Automatic Locks and Keyless Entry

I just bought an '09 DX fit that doesn't include either automatic locks or keyless entry. I'm looking at putting in a kit myself since the dealer quoted me $700 CDN to do it.
I've found two different kits and was wondering if anyone had any information on them: compatibility, quality, etc.

One is a Valiant system from JC Whitney: Valiant REMOTE CONTROL POWER DOOR LOCK SYSTEM : JC Whitney: Auto Parts & Accessories
And the other is the AutoLoc CK 4000 from The Hoffman Group: The Hoffman Group - Autoloc - 4 Door Remote Central Lock Kit

Prices are between $100 - $150 so they're pretty cheap. I'm just wondering if I'm biting off more than I can chew with doing the wiring and installation myself.

Has anybody done this before who can give some tips or warnings?

You could probably get a compustar alarm system for cheaper than $700 if you check out the local tune shops around van. That'll give you an alarm system too, and though it'll cost you a little more than you're willing to spend at least you'll have the works, backed by a good name. Personally I just find it a bit of a waste to just install the keyless entry/locks without an alarm if it doesn't already have it.

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not too interested in an alarm since the people in my neighbourhood are always setting theirs off accidentally and I don't want to contribute to that. I'll check around with some local shops though and see what they offer.
