Extra Armrest (for the passenger)

Hello everyone,

My wife just bought a 2009 Blackberry Pearl, and we very pleased with the overall package.

I've searched and found many threads about different armrest options for us, but nothing about adding an armrest to the passenger's seat. I want exactly what's on the driver's seatback, but for the passenger.

Has anyone checked into this?

Thanks for any help,
B

There is always the possibility of ordering a JDM armrest and then having the seat side configured so it could be bolted in.

But I think you should just order the optional center console armrest and save yourself some money and the hassle.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I've checked and there is some bracket in the side of the seat. The first thing I thought was that there was a JDM "driver's" armrest that would mirror the USDM piece. Where would I go to get a part from a different market? This isn't really in high demand, and I don't want to pay too much for it.

second issue you will run into with the JDM armrest is material. They do not have the same seat materials that we get in the US.

There is a guy who works for a Honda parts dept in Japan named Nori, he sells a lot on ebay and has sent me parts i requested from japan. If its in their system he can get it to you.

here is his ebay account, try contacting him:

My dad has the same thing. I just sent NORI and email. I was thinking that the passenger seat in the US models may be the same seat as the right hand drive models. And the possibly the armrest for that seat would bolt onto the US passenger seat. Yes you'd have to do some fabric work...but seems doable...I'll report back as I find out info...

thanks for contact info Bakedcookie...

Just get the Honda center console. It's what I did. The console is very wide, and essentially allows for both driver AND passenger to rest their arms on it. Plus you get storage, and it just looks cool :P

Dad doesn't like the console... and IMO there is plenty of storage in the fit already...

Rode in the shotgun seat of our Fit for the first time the other day; the OEM console worked really well for the passenger, not so much for the driver.
See if you can't find a console-equipped Fit for your dad to try.

Any updates on this?

Just bought an extra armrest for $7.00 shipped and thought I might try to put this on the passenger side! I'm hoping that the bolt hole is already there. E-bay #290338838087

Keep us posted, but I'm skeptical that it will fit. Is it a LEFT HAND armrest?

It is likely a RIGHT HAND armrest, given it was removed from the drivers seat

I just put my deposit down on a new Sport FIt AT with Nav and while teh sales guy got me a good deal on the car, he couldn't do much more that 10% off theit list of options and they list the middle console as $466 (they install it). I seem to recall that it only costs something like $220 for the parts. Anyone know if it is an easy install so that a newb like me can order it from tehir parts guys and install it myself? $200 to sinatll something like this seems crazy.

~190 shipped for the armrest at most online dealers... Installation is relatively easy. Do it yourself!

Is there a Chilton's manual for the 2009 Fit? I have search google without much luck. What manuals do you all use for doing things like this or fancier mods?
