is it me or what? i usually travel 95 kilometers one way everyday and when at 120 kph at 3200 rpm then put the pedal full forward, i feel it kicking in! 3200 rpm to 5000 towards 6000 rpm with vrooom sound of the vtec until 170kph.

i have the 1.5 matic with paddle shifts. i do this everyday and pass through lexus, bimmers, range rovers and even lumina ss

Ahh... one of the things I miss from my GS-R. The DOHC B18C1 Kicked in between 5800rpm and 6300rpm and when it kicked, it kicked. My Wife's Civic Ex with a SOHC D16Y8 didn't kick. you could feel the increasing power but there was no kick. As for the Fit. It feels stronger than the civic with slightly less hp and torque but not by much. that said, i'm getting better economy with the Fit and probably driving it harder. The Benefit of i-VTEC is the power available throughout the entire powerband. The Kick felt in the GS-R was the lack of the cars ability to provide decent power under 4500rpm (shortly before the VTEC Crossover). You had to Rev the snot out of the integra to get it to perform...

You guys need to remember that Honda doesn't use VTEC just to make power, but it can also be tuned for fuel economy, and I have a hunch that is exactly what Honda tuned iVTEC for in the Fit.
