Should be a little card in your owners manual pouch with the numbers on it.

I'll try; First check the owner's packet - there should be thin plastic card that has that info. If not; try the lower glovebox - inside the walls or sometimes on the outside, there may be a sticker about the size of a fortune cookie fortune. It should have either a 5 digit number or a long list of numbers and a few letters (serial number of the radio, not the VIN). The 5 digit # is what you are looking for.

Each Anti-theft code is specific to the radio and not the VIN.

Last try would be going to the dealership - the can electronically retrieve the serial number from your audio unit without removal. Should be at no charge - they are Jacks if they do.

(skip the owner's packet... I just took too long to type and just saw your reply)

the decals are usually put on the glove box by
someone at the dealership to make it easy.
if they don't then they should be in your manual.
now if you don't have either then a trip to the
dealer is a must.

niko is correct - it is part of the inspection that is done on the vehicle before it goes on the lot for sale.
MOST dealers will put them on the inside walls or the outside walls (facing the driver when open) of the lower glove box.
Some may choose to stick them elsewhere.

But since you got the vehicle from an auction, it may have been removed or the glove box replaced... who knows.

A trip to the dealership, at this point, is your only hope.

Karaoke is not so bad until then

If you have it try the service history book that comes with the car, inside should have a radio code, thats where i found mine.

Yeah, you can get it done without going to a dealer. Just use something like this: Honda radio code

Not for nothing kingofpicklez, but your sig movie ALWAYS hangs up threads for me- takes extra time to load the page. May I politely suggest...get rid of that freakin thing!

Check this post for links on getting the radio code via Honda:
http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-generation-ge-08-present/38191-blown-fuse-where-heck.html#post741186

Yes, I put a link in there to get to the Canadian site.

The whole point of having these small security measures is to help prevent radio or car thieves from easily being able to use those items.

You can register your Honda at the website below. It's the Honda owners website. You just enter the VIN number and some other info and it will give you details on your specific Honda like maintenance, recalls, trim, etc. There is also an option to get your radio code too.

That's an idea, but I like to look at sigs- at least ones that have pertinent information. Since this was brought up again, I'll comment that I too get scroll locks from that annimation- always have. I frequent a LOT of forums. It's bad form to have that kind of annimation in a sig- as well as huge ass pics and logos. Nobody gets anything out of that crap. Useless really. You wanna have a video, put it on youtube, not in a signature.

That's the last I'll mention of this. Again, sorry I brought it up in this thread. Should have been done on the side.

Dan

I think the sig is awesome, and he shouldn't be told to remove something because someones internet connection sucks.

Alrighty then, since this thread has provided the information necessary for the OP to retrieve their code (go to Honda dealer), lets address the signatures and internet connections.

This site is worldwide, right? People all over the world may have a Fit or Jazz, and they want to be able to join or share or just read.

I recall not so long ago myself struggling with dial-up. And I know other people are STILL on dial-up.

It's not just a question of affordability, it has to be AVAILABLE in order to use a faster connection. Tons of info online, maps...

Worldwide, general internet access by country by population:

Worldwide Extension Of Internet Access Points | The World Maps

It can be divied up by job (farmers):

Online assignments and the digital divide : All of My Faults Are Stress Related

Or by school with internet access:

Indicators 1998 - List of Figures

TONS of charts and graphs at that above link.

Within a particular state, there may be huge disparities:

Speak Your Piece: Let Local Networks Deliver Broadband | Daily Yonder | Keep It Rural

There's one way to make a well-thought-out decision, which amazingly requires THOUGHT. And reasoning.

That is to consider all points of view, and to imagine yourself being put in any one of those conditions. Much like Kohlberg's stories for the levels of moral development:
Kohlberg's stages of moral development - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Everyone does not have fast internet connections, and in some cases, it's not even available. Suggesting that someone upgrade might entail moving to another area, or another country. Which isn't going to happen.

And the tables can turn, if someone who has a zippy fast connection moves to an area that has no fast internet.

I'm left out plenty of times, I'm on a Mac. Plenty of games that are not available for Macs. And it annoys me. And what if this site became a Mac-only site? A whole bunch of people would be left out. Is telling those people to "upgrade" or "buy the right computer" a viable option? Or is it cold-hearted?

I'd think the best choice would be to make as much available and easily accessed for the most people and being as considerate as possible to other people.

All those pictures I just posted, those hog the bandwidth too. And in a picture thread such as the one for a group meet, with my connection, I have to sit and wait. My connection is MUCH faster than dial-up. But it's not instantaneous.

I'll check back later and delete the images and leave up the links.

A basic rule might be to limit the size of things in signatures or avatars. That helps to make it easy for everyone.

And we can always link to favorites, share them in the off-topic forum.
