You shouldn't put HID's in the headlamps or the fogs. Both assemblies are designed for the geometry of a halogen bulb/filament, not an HID capsule.

Can anyone verify that if you have the 09'-10' mugen FRONT underbody spoiler on, you would have to remove the bumper to replace/upgrade to HID fogs...or can I just access it without removing bumper. haven't tried so thats why I ask. I'm getting my kit installed next month.

Retrofit the headlamps and leave the fog lamps alone. If you are after an actual lighting improvement, a set of retrofitted headlamps will be an improvement to the point where you won't need to use fog lamps at all. The chief of exterior lighting systems at Audi recently said that "Fog lamps are relics of the past. They lost their right to exist after the glare control problem of headlamps was solved." A well-designed HID headlamp, be it projector or reflector, has more than enough output to function both as a headlamp and fog lamp. Infiniti stated this outright back in 2002.

Remember that a regular D2S HID burner puts out more lumens than your stock H4 bulb on its high beam filament. Think how annoying it is when someone has his or her brights on in traffic. Then think how you'll be doing that to everyone else on the road if you use a plug and play kit. Don't treat your exterior lighting as if it were a fashion accessory.

I put HID's in the fog lamps on my Solstice. It does help close up, but other than the looks that go with HID's, isn't worth what it cost me. Cool for car shows, but that is about it.

LED Fogs FTW!
Plus since LED's put off very little heat I put 3M clear bra on my fogs to protect them. Can't even see the clear bra can you?

One of the few people that understand this very simple concept.

I wish law enforcement would start getting their act together. But, don't worry, as more people continue to install glaring pnp hid kits public awareness of WHY they are geting glared will increase. Once they realize that people are purchasing these lights knowing full well that they are blinding other drivers, they will DEMAND increased enforcement.

I've educated quite a few people on what exactly those bright white, blue, yellow, and pink/purple lights are and their response has almost always been "douchebag" not "cool"

Trust me, I'm a criminal justice major and am VERY active in local law enforcement. I know lots of officers/deputies and have been on a few ride alongs with them. Most of the officers understand they are illegal, but so many people have gotten these kits that they are sort of used to it. I have been with officers that have issued tickets and even had a car towed because his vehicle was deemed unsafe to drive and a hazard. It really depends on the official. I have informed most of the officers I have worked with about this issue and they are glad that I brought it up to them. For now I can't do nothing about these kits other than educate about the dangers of them. Until I finish the academy

lol, I know I get a bit over the top about this stuff but it seems to be the only way to actually get any change out of people. If you flash your highbeams at them all they do is go home and post on the forums about how only 3 people flashed them today so the lights can't be that bad. I've got nothing against retrofits even though they too are illegal. The only real issue to me is if I am getting glared and if the lights are a just plain stupid color temp like 7k+ or 2k-.

this subject is understandable but at the same time u guys make it seem like retrofitting is something that can get done with pocket change...anywho, i aint trying to get on anyones bad side but i got them for both and guess what, i adjusted them to the point it aint gonna hurt anyone... i enjoy them for what it is... but thats my $.02...
