Lane Watch Camera Bug and Replacing the Head Unit

Has anyone who has had their head unit replaced seen the issue with the lane watch camera any more? I'm curious if it actually helped as I am seeing it about once a week now and seems to be getting more frequent.

I had my head unit replaced yesterday and I have not seen the glitch again, but I have only driven for a little over an hour since then.

The issue had only happened twice since I bought the car on July 11th, so it will take at least a few weeks for me to feel confident that the issue won't come back.

When you hit the turn signal it will sometimes show the rear view camera instead, or sometimes just be blank.
Couple of links to look at... I think there are more out there.

Have not noticed this yet on mt Fit. Hopefully it's a isolated bug...

Forgot to add I haven't had any customer come in complaining about this either.

So far it has happened to me at least once a week since owning the car. I have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow. My problem is because it is an intermittent problem it probably won't happen tomorrow at the dealer. But, I made some videos on my phone of it happening.

I'd be curious to know what firmware version your new unit has. You can find it buried in the info menu under system info (or if you go into diagnostics: Power-Home-Eject it's buried deep in there too).

I have Application version 1.D200.30 (or if digging deeper, DBOOT H14M DA US 3.26, Software Loader 2.5200.3501.45 System microCom H42F10 31.29.12) and am having the more minor Lanewatch issues (occasional long delay when switching).

So far, so good. Granted it's only been a few days (my dealership swapped out the head unit on Tuesday), but it seems to be working just fine so far.

My info is:

My Applications : Ver.1.D2000.30
Device 942K0142

I dropped off the Fit at the dealer this morning. Explained to the service writer what was wrong. Showed him my videos on my phone. He said that they will probably have the car for a few days and that the technician will actually need to see the problem. Im not confident that the technician will see it happen because its an intermittent problem. I did get a loaner so at least that's a plus. I also contacted American Honda and they would have a case manager call me back on Monday. Sucks that I have a brand new car with a problem.

I wouldn't have left it at the dealer. Your videos were enough. They either know how to fix the problem or they don't. It's a driving problem, not a sitting in the garage problem. Get your car back, imo.

1. Post your videos on YouTube with the title "2015 Honda Fit Safety Defect - Lane Watch Camera" That way people who need information about safety defects on Honda Fits can easily Google it.
2. Report the problem to Honda Corporate and give them the URL of the video as evidence of the problem.
3. Don't allow the service people to use your new car as their utility beater while they "diagnose the problem." They can diagnose all they want by watching the video.

I haven't seen this. ill have to keep an eye on it. i think the lane watch is kind of stupid anyway...i can turn my head and look faster then the time it takes for the camera to come on. it does seem like its getting slower and slower to come on, but maybe thats becuase im using my ipod for music? vs just the radio....

Lane Watch Camera Bug and Replacing the Head Unit

We appreciate the information- just feel disappointed about the "reman" part- especially if a person just purchased just bought a new Fit and had a problem- granted if they replaced it- that's cool- but it's a new car- replace it with a "new" part- please!

Unfortunately Ken when it is a part like a head unit, starter, alternator trans etc it is cheaper to rebuild a part, replace worn components and supply as a "REFURB" part. All manufactors do this so its not isolated to Honda.

Bummer that this is happening to new cars.

Also a bummer that whoever wrote and approved that memo from Honda can't spell. "Effected" should be "affected."
