I purchased a the Scosche kit a month or two ago and the bottom was just fine (no problems like the original poster)
My problem with the kit was the top right corner which wouldn't stay flush with the dash...
So i took about 3 feet of heavy speaker wire, put a ring terminal at each end
Then i attached one end to the top screw on the backside of the kit that holds the right bracket for the radio, fished it through, and then when the radio and kit were in place, pulled the other end of the wire and secured it to the sub dash with a metal screw.... so this wire is actually pulling the kit in/flush.....
