What do you like about your Fit?
I keep seeing the complaint list pop up...
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gene...ur-fit-49.html
But there were things that I like about the car now that I did not discover during the test drive...
1) I like the audible warning when you fail to notice that your hand brake is on. In my wife's Mazda I can cruise down the road like I am stuck in mud then notice that the light is on.
2) I like that the audible nag for the seat belt does not activate right away. I usually put mine on after I back out of the garage, or at the first stop sign. It also goes off instead of keep dinging, as we found when my son was putting his cleats on for football practice. It dings every 2-3 minutes after, but stops and resumes.
3) I love being able to configure the locks the way I want to on the car.
4) The USB connection is great, no morning talk radio, and no commercials. Works better than I imagined it would, no longer have to make CD's for the car, not even MP3 CDs.
5) I was skeptical on the gas mileage, but have averaged 30.3 MPG with the air conditioning on.
6) The versatility. Even being shown in the showroom how to move stuff around, I thought I would never do it, but it is so easy I fold the seats flat, put them back, put up the rear seat bottoms all the time depending on what I am doing.
I am sure there are more!

I have a GD3 and I like the...
1. Good gas milage.
2. Its fun when changing lanes(Nimble handling).
3. The rear seats fold flat.
4. Tall mode to put in Bicycle(s).
5. Front leg room.
6. Extra large rear leg room
7. Refresh Mode.
8. Lots of space for carrying things.
9. Honda reliability.
10. Good acceleration even for a small engine.
11. Aftermarket support is good.
12. I like the dashboard straight to the point layout.
13. Can seat 3 people and still carry a lot of cargo while the one rear seat is folded.
14. It is hatchback.
15. Mp3/iPod Auxillary port.
16. Maintenance is cheap.
17. Looks nice for a small car.
18. Oil life meter.
19. Looks nice stock.
20. Rear cup holders are on the door panel and also on the center console.

-the precision and light throw of the shifter
-instantaneous mpg gauge (instead of numeric read-out!)
-magic seats no doubt
--ive hauled 2 ikea poangs chairs at once, and an 80" long shelf!
-small turning radius + narrow width = easy to park
-very quiet!
-surprisingly capable stock usb/ipod support (title browsing, title display)
-nice thick small radius civic steering wheel

The look of the non-US GDs
Clever thinking behind the interior packaging
Clean but cute dashboard
Small turning circle radius
Ease of parking
Nippiness and nimbleness
Light control weights
A very good manual shifter
Good visibility (could be better though)
Practicality
Economy
Reliability

Hmm i love this thread. You my friend will get reped for this.
Better MPG than rated
Fun to drive
Fits any thing in it
Fits in the smallest spots in the city
USB for ipod is great
Looks hot stock and dead sexy with a few Mods
Plenty of aftermarket support on it
Can Boost it if i want to
Cheap to maintain it
Love the seats i don't feel like i have to be carful in them due to the cheap material there made of.
Can have 4 people in it AC blasting and still get 32MPG
Can sleep in it during road trips which saves a ton of cash
Cheap to insure it
For about $35 i can go on a 500 mile road trip
I still have plent of cash in my pocket to be able to save for later things in life and to have fun with because of the car.
Well thats about it this really is a great car for its class. Are there better car out there that are nicer with better seats yes. But not in this price range and in this class. The Fit is number one in its class and for the price you can't beat it. I really can't stand the other thread with all the nit picky complaints about the car. It seems that every one in that thread to me should have bought a more upscale car and not a econo box like the fit. I mean a LEX or a BMW would have Fit there needs if you ask me.The Fit is my car and is exactly what i wanted and fits into my life style perfect. The car is not my life like some treat there cars. ITs a means for me to live my life and get me where i want to go that is it.

Yours is not the first complaint I have seen about drive by wire. I don't get it; to me the Fit's throttle response doesn't feel significantly different than any car I have owned since 1960, other than having a very light touch, which I have really appreciated for the past few months, as I recover from surgery on a broken right foot.
Overall, I think I would summarize what I like about the GE Fit in one word: ergonomics. Occasionally, I have to drive my father-in-law's 2001 Oldsmobile, and almost everything about it just screams "WRONG." Other than its sunshades, which are big, and have a pull-out extension, the Olds is a case study for why GM got into trouble.

I have owned a Geo metro 1.0 1998, a civic 4wd 1987 (carbed) and have drove a lot a 2005 echo hatchback, 06-09 yaris hatchback and 1999 camry. And the difference between carbed engine, FI with throttle cable and FI with TBW is huge.
On a carbed, as soon as you bleep the gas, the revs will go up as if you had a lightweight flywheel, without any delay, and every variation in the throttle position will be noticable. In a FI, it's similar but with a small delay.
On a car with throttle by wire however, the delay is even bigger, and you feel that the throttle input doesn't match with the behavior of the car. On a FI car with a cable, if you tap quickly on the gas pedal many times in a row, the car will "buck" everytime you lift off. If you do the same on a car with throttle by wire (fit, same on the yaris) everything will be smooth because of the electronic control.
And the fit is maybe great (I made my mom buy one even if I don't love it), it still sells much less than the less practical civic, so ergonomics and practicality aren't the only things that matter when people buy a car.
