are you're tire pressures all the same? How many miles do you have on you're car. Just saying your mileage is getting worse doesn't make it a very easy task to help you.
Theres so many variable's when it comes to MPG's. Where you drove how hard you drove, wind, hills, tire pressure, speed. Check your tire pressure theres a good chance that its low. Check them when they are cold(morning) and make sure they are 32psi.
okay my car is brand new i have about 1300 miles well i mean a little under. I'll check the tire pressure! um well even when im just daily driving it, the gas mileage seems to be lower.
I haven't been following the weather across the country, but how's the weather in vegas? Did the temp drop fairly drastically lately? Cooler weather creates more power through the dense air, which in turn lowers your mpg's, where as warm air will do the opposite
just out of curiosity, but do any of you watch mythbusters? they ran tests to see if running the a/c would reduce gas mileage and it does not have an affect on mileage at all, the whole idea of running the a/c with the defrost is irrelevent to this situation anyhow
A/C will reduce gas millage on a small engine like the Fit's. It uses some of the engines power to make the system work so the engine has to work harder to achieve the same performance and therefore MPG's go down.

the motor isn't working any harder than it is when the a/c system is not running, its still turning the pulley no matter what, the only difference is that the compressor is powered on electrically.
so if you would truely like to save on gas mileage you're going to have to pull you're entire a/c compressor out of the engine bay, or just disconnect the belt
I agree but we can both agree that having the A/C on will reduce gas mileage or at least it has for me in any car I've ever driven. It also makes a car with a small engine feel more sluggish when it is engaged.

I wouldn't know how it feels kicked on in a smaller car. I've always driven accords until now, but it shouldn't hurt the fuel economy. I still think that it shouldn't hurt the economy
oh, i never use ac for the defrost. So thats out, thanks for the feedback though
The defrost mode automatically starts the air conditioning compressor when in the defrost mode, weather you like it or not. There is an easy mod to stop it from doing this.
When the Air Conditioning Compressor is running it reduces your mileage by a LOT!
Anyways after doing the NO AC defrost modI'm back on track to good MPG, I just pulled 434KM out of 34 liters of gas. And that's with me redlining it ferquently

It most definately does in the Fit. And yes, the AC pulley is always there, but when the compressor clutch is disengaged there is NO resistance on it, and no drag on the engine.
And that's with me redlining it ferquently
