I just bought my 2009 sport fit last week for work. I put on about 370 miles a day for work and im averaging 35 mpg. Its been cold here in Minnesota below zero for highs. Im just wondering how much or any jump in mpg I can hope to get when the weather gets warmer.

 

you are doing better than me right now. mine has dropped to 30~ mpg this winter.

35-37 mpg, but i've been running my remote start more lately and driving a little more aggressive. u can click on my fuelly sig and see my fillups

 

370 miles a day!!! I take it that is mostly express.
Chicago hasn't been too much warmer this year.
Have son in twin cities, so keep an eye on it.
My results, 2011 base auto.
Summer =41-44mpg, @ %55 express/45 local
Winter = 32-35mpg, @ %20 express, 80 local
Overall for 49000miles, comes out at 38.205mpg right now,
peaked at 38.464 this fall.

 

I have dropped to just under 30 for the winter! in the summer I average around 34-36 and currently I am @ 26-29. It does not help I have get unstuck every day stuck in Ice street parking!

 

I've seen a 2 - 4 MPG drop this winter here and even though we've had a colder than usual winter in Alabama it doesn't get nearly as cold as it does for you guys in the Northern states. I've noticed that MPG really starts to drop below about 45F. I'm normally around 35-36 MPG when it's warmer and I've been struggling to get 32-33 MPG lately (Fit Sport Auto).

Yeah I'm contracted to deliver prescription medication to pharmacies, usually have 6-9 stops a day.

 

You lucky dog. You get to ride around in your Fit all day instead of having to drive a boring delivery truck. Sounds like a fun job.

I just purchased my first Honda back on Saturday (A 2010 fit sport). I upgraded/downsized from a 2004 Liberty.

In my Liberty I would get around 17mpg in the summer but this winter (I'm in Northeast Ohio) has been especially taxing, dropping me down to about 11.5mpg. I'm getting 27mpg in the fit right now in the same conditions, and I let the car warm up for about 10 minutes each day (which I know counts against the trip mpg). On my way home from the dealership I reset the trip mileage, drove 25 highway miles, and my trip mpg was 34mpg.

Anyway, I anticipate that the mpg will go up in the summer. Regardless, I'm very impressed so far.

 

I feel for you bipolar. I am in the burbs, but familiar with skinny 1 way streets
of chitown. I also benefit in the winter with Fit in attached garage, so instead of engine at 0 degrees when starting, it is a toasty 40!

 

It's not only the temps in the winter, but winter blend gas (ethanol). I usually see about a 10% drop in the winter time.
