m-man@sbcglobal.net is on a distinguished road
MTF magnet?

Hey does anyone know if the manual transmission has a magnet inside somewhere, or if the drain plug is magnetic, i dont have the manual yet, and i was curious
if not, does anyone know if the threads are the same on the transmission as they are for the oil pan,
i think they are....the reason is that i can get a magnet plug at the local autoparts store for 5 bucks that i know fits the oil pan,
and not pay the crazy $30 bucks that places like Password JDM want

Yes, there is a transmission magnet, #3. It's not part of the drain plug though.

The above picture is for an 07 Fit. You didn't say what year yours is.

all manual transmissions have a safety magnet in them. the aftermarket drain plug with a magnet is just another safety precaution so small metal particles wont damage the moving gears.

Question Same question as OP.

I saw an aftermarket oil drain plug that was magnetic, and thought about getting it, so I searched this site, and I can't find the thread now but somewhere it mentioned that the GE8's come with magnetic oil drain plug, and magnetic transmission plug.

Can anyone confirm that the Fit's (GD's and/or GE's) have magnetic oil drain plug, and does it really work the way it's suppose to?

Thanks.

neither of them come with a magnetic drain plug. you have to buy them aftermarket.
