DIY: Bolt on Projector Lens

Alright everyone, it's done!!

Here's the DIY for the Bolt-On Projector Lens that i'm selling. After I installed it, I can truly say, that it's REALLY easy!! I did the entire job in 2 hours...including dissembling the headlight!!

Firstly, follow this thread on dissembling the headlight:

http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-l...headlight.html

1) here's the headlight without the lens

2) you have to remove the bulb holder spring and the reflector...thingy???

You have to remove it from the back end.

3) Here's the headlight now:

4) remove all the spin locks, springs and washers from the projector unit. REMEMBER WHERE THEY GO!!!

5) Find out which side is the top side of the projector.

6) Feed all the wires through the FRONT of the headlight so that the Projector unit faces forward.

7) Put the locking tab back in place. IT ONLY GOES ONE WAY!

8) Now, put back all the spin locks, springs, washers everything IN THE RIGHT ORDER!

9) Guess what..... YOU'RE DONE!!

EASY!!!

Here's a pic of the Halo on:

Low Beam Cut-Off

High-Beam

(GB info is here: GI: Direct Bolt-On Projectors!!)

take some pictures with more clear area so we can see the cut off. I'm guessing you didn't want to paint the headlight black so you can go back to stock if anything right?

I"ll do it when i get a chance. I had to go out so it was kinda rushed

Yes, the headlight can be painted black. I didn't do it because again, i was in a hurry to head out. THE whole job only took about 2 hours including baking the headlight

it pretty much looks like this:

This is the only pic that i've got.

The driver's side hasn't been adjusted for height yet. That's why it looks funny

Dude, clean your garage! LOL

Subscribed, this may be enough to get me to finally pop apart my headlights. I'd really like to hear how the light output compares with stock, particularly the high beams because the stock high beams s-u-c-k s-o b-a-d.

No Problems. For the Metro Vancouver guys, i'm doing an INTRODUCTORY rate of $230 for installing the projectors. ONLY IF YOU HAVE A SECOND SET!! If i need to remove your bumper, it will be more.

It takes the D2S bulb

The labour includes:

Disassembly
Painting
Install
Reassembly

What's the average cost for a retrofit? Upwards of... $800 ??

Plus, it's not just some Joe-blow doing it. I'm a fully licensed automotive tech that manages/owns a shop.

Good quality work = top dollar

Over here, this is what dealers are charging:

Audi: $120/hour
BMW: $160/hour
Aston: $180/hour
Lambo: $220/Hour
Ford: $110/hour
Chrysler: $115/hour
Toyota: $120/hour

there are two options.
1) 2.5"
2) 3.5"

The 2.5" looks perfect is size with the eyelids. I'm guessing that teh 3.5's may look better without eyelids.
