Post your Boosted Fuel Consumption Numbers

Hey All,

I had a pretty heated debate with a few friends over the weekend about turbo/supercharging the Fit and how it affects the Fuel Consumption. I remember in an issue of Siphon they reviewed the Kraftworks SC and they said something about how it didn't really affect fuel consumption. I couldn't find my copy of it to show my friends, so they didn't believe me that the Fit didn't change much once Boosted.

I understand that once you get a performance mod, whether it be a simple intake or new rubber. A persons right foot may be a bit heavy for a while, but once you get back into "normal/gas saving" driving mode, how is the fuel consumption?

I am hopefully going to be going with the T1R turbo kit, but it would be nice to see if ppl who have any kit (Greddy, HKS, KW, T1R, etc) to post their average fuel consumption numbers for other members.

As gas prices continue to rise, some members may actually have FC sway their decision from one kit to another. Not that one kit to another would really be much different.. I am just looking for real world data on the FC of the boosted Fit.

Cheers.

I guess it would be good to see how bad the FC is when you pretty much drive like your car is stolen right after you installed the kit lol. But if you drive like that all the time then the comparison would be good.

I've stretched my last tank over almost 3 weeks now.. I'm at 709kms, and still have just under 1/4 tank on the guage... so maybe another 100ish kms. I've been shifting like an 85 year old grandma.. (3k rpms) and feathering the gas pedal.

My tank ranged from 30-32mpg stock and Turbo its about 28-30mpg. Small fuel loss, but not noticable to hurt your pocket. I've hardly ever gone into "gas saving mode"

After this tank is done, I'm back to my normal vtec driving.. it's been so hard to not drive hard, I can't stand "putting" down the road for the past few weeks! luckily it hasn't been too hot out and its been raining all last week! lol...

according to the article in siphon, driving up to big bear and flooring it constantly resulted in a 27. something average for the kraftwerks fit, and 29. something for the stocker. but this could have something to do with the way a rotrex unit works, maybe its less intrusive than other boost applications?

I was hypermiling like a mofo before the KWSC, and was getting mid to high 30s. One 39 mpg tank and two 38 mpg tanks, the rest 33+ (after almost 5000 miles of driving, not one below 30).

After KWSC, even when I try to hypermile, the Scangauge will tell me 31 or 32 tank avg, but I hit the half-full at about 150 miles First tank was 29 mpg (included a lot of idle and some hard accelerations), and second was 29.2 again (included the accelerations next to my friend's Si and some more idling).

I'll let you know how this tank goes (probably 30-ish since I've been mixed between hypermiling and lead-footing it). Hypermiling with a KWSC = needs strong willpower.

Chris, your 41mpg, what altitude was that at? Me being in Fayetteville, NC (hour and change south of Raleigh, NC), is that affecting me, besides the quality of gasoline (bp and shell, mostly)? I feel like I'm missing something here

i thought bp over in NC is suppose to be like our chevron and 76 over here.

i only pour shell and chevron and my best so far before boost is 41.

hopefully when i purchase the boost...ill be around the 30-35 range. i could careless about gas mileage if im still over the 30mpg

What diff does the header/injector upgrade make?

What diff does the header/injector upgrade make?

I've been following these KWSC threads for some time now and gas mileage is a real thing for me....

I'm a total FI noob, but it seems like to get a good power gain the base SC kit doesn't do too much (121whp vs. ~92 whp stock looking at the kraftwerks dyno graph).

In order to get big power, you need the injector upgrade and header (144whp from kraftwerks site with header, cat delete, exhaust), but that would eat up more gas vs. stock, even when the SC is in bypass mode correct?

My worst tank was today, I been driving all weekend and somewhat aggressively with A/C on day and night with a minimum of 2 passengers. 25mpg Also the turbo timer has been auto timing the car at usually 2 mins because of the weather. Hot STUFF!

I have a header, Cat delete and catback exhaust.... my mileage was posed with these mods.

if you don't go into boost you should get pretty good gas mileage because the turbo/SC helps atomizing the incoming air.

your right, it is. its a very quality gas. i think he was asking because we have 93 octane over here. we have a few 76's. our bp's are more like something between chevron and mobil, with a strong lean towards chevron.

wow. looks like i'll have to have the fit closer to being paid off than i thought before going kw, cause i'm usually at 160-170 at the halfway mark.
