Installed my dead pedal from Zetaproducts today. Was quite pleased by the ease of installation, although I wasn't able to put the kick panel back into place completely.

There are 4 anchoring points for the kick panel, the hole at the top that the bottom of the dash "pokes" through, where it clips into the liner panel on the floor that runs along the door edge, and 2 white colored interior points that you have to push and slide to clip the kick panel into. I was only able to connect one of the interior points, probably due to the geometry of the dead pedal at that part of the kick panel. But, the dead pedal and the kick panel seem solid, and so far the feel of the dead pedal seems alright to me.

can you just trim the kick panel in that area to get more clearance?

I just checked the installation notes, it actually states that the upper retainer can't be used when putting the kick panel back on. So, I did it right then =)

Actually, to get both tabs in, you have to remove the white one and install it FIRST onto the kick panel, then push those clips back into the sheetmetal. If u are trying to slide the kick panel onto those white clips, it's going to be very difficult. Remove them, install it on the kick panel and snap it back into place. Those white clips come straight out, use some pliers and a screwdriver to pry it off. be gentle tho. =]

Ahh, ok, thanks for the clarification, I thought that might be possible, but I wasn't able to get the retainer out with just my fingers so I decided to just leave it as was since it seemed secure.

I wonder how the Razo attaches? If it's flat and it just screws into the floor I wouldn't go with it. The Zeta is raised up off the floor and in the perfect position imho.

Razo does have some quality stuff at a decent price though. I use a Razo shift knob and I like it a lot.

most autoparts stores sell that panel removal tool. it's like a 2 fingered
fork and you just slide the exposed clip into the slot and pry it out.
comes in very handy.

i think they're asking you to mount it directly onto the carpeting...which
is going to be pretty bad...

just get the zeta deadpedal and call it a day. it's good stuff,
even i can appreciate. im a pretty noisy/picky guy.

Many have been able to catch both clips, but we figured it best to at least mount the main (important one). Either way, the install is pretty simple and the panel will sit flush. Thanks to all who posted comments on our product.

You should be able to mount the Dead Pedal from Razo onto our dead pedal since we have a flat surface. What do you think?

^^^ Very cool. I like the brushed metal w/ flat rubber grip look, like my old STI. All-in cost for pedal covers and the dead pedal (w/ cover) is a heck of an investment. I think I'll start with just the dead pedal and go from there. Thanks again for offering these products.

I took advantage of the warm weather today and installed the dead petal from Zeta. Probably took around 45 minutes, 30 minutes of that was trying take the kick panel off, stupid upper clip. Didn't want to break anything, so it took extra long. Feels pretty solid, so far so good. Those bolts holding the dead petal and hood release seems to be under a lot of pressure, hope it's alright.

I was going to do what another posted suggested about taking the clips out and then popping them back in place, but seeing how much trouble I had removing the kick panel due to the clips I decided to just leave it. It looks normal, and I don't mind the hood release not centered in the cut out.

Oh yea, after the installation I found cuts on my hand. Wonder why I always get cuts when doing any kind of installation.
