Hid Lights

ok is HID lights on the fit super bad? do the cops really bother you in CA? i found a kit on ebay that i might just give a try, if they do give me trouble and i do get pulled over for them, id rather have spent 60 bucks rather than 150 to 200 bucks for them

eBay Motors: Honda HID Xenon Conversion Kit Civic Accord Prelude Fit (item 150267854977 end time Jul-13-08 16:09:01 PDT)

heres the link, i want to know if anyone has these on there fit yet, it has a picture of a fit on there and i was wondering if it might be someone on here, it comes with a year warrenty and has a lot of info about them, i just bought some luminics ultra white h4 bulbs and they were horrible so i switched back to the silverstar ultras, i was thinking about getting the 6000k ones, i know everyone says you shuld get the bi xenon but i never use my highbeams, and the hi/low ones are fine bec i wont use the halogen high beam bulb at all, maybe just to flash someone but thats it. please if anyone can get me some info please do. thanx

McLovin will become famous soon enough
You will cause glare to other drivers as they are only light bulbs. Not as effective as projectors which is less likely to cause glare. I don't know whether or not you will get pulled over but I'm sure you will be the Fit everyone hates on the road. You don't want that, do you?

hahaha well id hope not but how come alot of people on here have them without the projecters and they say it doesnt blind everyone, on most cars they are blinding but i guess maybe the fit isnt that bad, plus where i live we have all these dumass lifted trucks that dont adjust there headlights and to me that would be more annoying

well as long as you get the bulb with the shield, it wouldn't be that bad.

theres a shield around the bulb that prevents glaring. i took out my cheap ass hids from ebay last week. no shield = ultra glare.

I would recomend getting this kind of set up. OEM Philips D2R hid bulb and using the casper shield it's way better than aftermarket HID kit and glare is very minimal plus ballast and the d2r/d2s amp adapters to connect between the bulbs and the ballast and your set to go. this is the set up I had before I did the retrofit.

yeah! you can buy from ebay. here are some links to my set up and where you can buy it. you would also need the harness h4 connector. these are all you need plus the ballast and your set and easy to install. but if you can find some of the parts in an auto parts store like the h4 connector you don't have to go ebay, only those bulbs and the shield you have to buy ebay coz you can't buy it in auto parts.
F.S. HID PNP kit slim w/ ballast
eBay Motors: Xenon HID Wire Harness H4 9003 Plug Ballast Connector (item 230270764534 end time Jul-16-08 22:26:50 PDT)
eBay Motors: H4 to D2S/D2R Adapters for Philips Xenon HID bulbs 9003 (item 280243480762 end time Jul-13-08 16:09:04 PDT)
eBay Motors: HID Conversion Adapters for D2R/D2S BMW AUDI SAAB JEEP (item 320273076987 end time Jul-20-08 09:40:11 PDT)

so what exactly would be the differnce from buying just an HID kit? just to reduce glare? its alot of seperate parts just to reduce some glare

can you install the ballests and the hids without taking the headlamp out and the bumper? cant you just put the ballests up under the hood somewhere instead of taking hella stuff off just to install them behind the headlamp?

Yeah the cool thing about fits is that its not raised up HELLA high like trucks so your lights wont be pointed directly at the driver. I hope I made sense :\, its kinda late in Fremont.

ya i just put them on and turned them on and wow, what a differense, i matched them with my dads civic to level them around where it was stock and thy raised them up two turns, its like im driving in the day they are so bright, i love my new lights, i wont ever go back to halogens. heres what the kit looks like, i havnt been able to get any good night shots so i cant show you how them look on the car. the kit was 63 bucks with shipping and handling, the lights work perfect so with them being that inexpensive and are brighter than a halogen bulb im not complaining!

How is the color? Any more pics? Might pick up one of these, cant go wrong with that price. I dont like very much blue in the color I really want just pure white with at most just a bluish tinge. I dont want a blue beam.

I have HIDS fogs and headlights. cops dont bother you. Most cars are coming with HIDs stock so they think nothing of it.
