Oh Snap!

Thanks you just cost me a bunch of $$$ on lightbulbs for my car!

Specifically (4) Eagle Eye II's in size 7440 for the rear tailights...

How to remove

Can someone tell me how to remove the license plate light bulb cover?
I says "remove" with right-arrow on the cover, but I was not able to remove it. Which way do I have to pull out after I push it to the right?
Thank you!!

Remove the interior hatch cover.
then you will see the license plate lamps.
Squeeze both sides, and out they come.

this was near the top of page 2 in this lighting subforum:

Help with license plate bulbs replacement!

No need to remove interior hatch cover apparently.

Polarg has their own way to number their bulbs. Polarg's small M4 wedge is 168/194.

the bulb size is 194. I do NOT RECOMMEND getting glass bulbs that are painted because i had some lying around from my old car and installed them on my fit. A week later one was out and when i check the housings, the glass broke and the housings were melted!!! i had 2 order TWO new license plate housings and covers ($10 each side) so now i switched them to LED'S. Here is where i get all my led's:

www.autolumination.com Tail Light Brake Light Turn Signal LED Bulbs

this is the direct link to where u can find the 194 bulbs that i used.

194 168 W5W 2825 Map Led Parking Signal Marker Bulbs

Scroll down until u see where it says:
194 Signal/Marker Bulbs.

(Inverted Lenses Emit Light out the sides of the bulb)

U need an inverted bulb (that shoots light from the side rather then a traditional LED that focuses light out the tip of the nose) because the led doesn't face directly down at the license plate to illuminate it enough. The side emmiting led's work the best and are very bright.

you just slide the lens in the direction of the arrrow and pull straight out at the same time-- its a tight fit but really easy to get
i recommend superbrightleds.com and go with the five led 168s i got cool white- also avail in warm --- just have your remote handy and press the unlock button - this will blink the lights so you can see if the work (polarized so flip em if they dont) that way you dont have to run all the way around to the front and back and then back to turn off

something to note: the covers don't really slide. they're stuck in there the way a AA battery is stuck in a gameboy, or a AAA battery in a gameboy pocket. hope that makes sense, so if anybody tries in the future you'll be less likely to break the cover.

Update: Buddy was buying LEDs so i went in on the deal to save on shipping. Picked up the WLED-WHP6 LED from superbrightleds.com in Cool White. Overall I am happy with the bulbs, as i was scared that they would turn out with too much of a blue-hue but they emit a very white tone. Though the bulbs are a bit not as bright, the light distribution is very good.
on with the pics

Stock:

LEDs In! (Note: they looks more blue in the pics)
