Offset on Civic HX wheels for base Fit?

Hi there,

I'm posting this in the racing forum because I'm hoping more people here would know the specs on the HX wheel since I think it's one people use for AutoX often.

Anyways, I was trying to search for the specs for the base fit steelie wheels, and this was the only thing I could find was this Post from Mini-Fit stating that they are 14x5.5 et+45. This is correct?

My question is, what's the offset on the HX wheels? I know they are 14x5.5 as well. Basically, I want to know would they keep my Fit in H-Stock?

Thanks all.

not sure of the offset but they will not fit without spacers in the front

Siccmonkey, thanks for the reply. Now, is this based on your experience? If so, where was the issue with fitment in the front? Brake caliper/wheel spoke clearance?

The reason I want to ask is because I've heard conflicting info on the offset of HX wheels. But the highest offset I have heard of is +50.

Using that and the width of 5.5in, and running it through any wheel offset calculator, I can't see any clearance problem with the struts on the inside, nor the fenders on the outside.

Base: 14x5.5 et+45 ---> HX 14x5.5 ET+50
same width, so inner clearance reduced by 5mm, outer position reduced by 5mm

Sport: 15x6 et+55 ---> HX 14x5.5 ET+50
Inner clearance INCREASE by 11mm and outer position reduced by 1mm

So by the numbers the HX wheels SHOULD clear the struts and fenders. And if offset was any lower, then there should be MORE clearance inside.

The HX wheel is not a dished design, so I can't see caliper clearance being a problem due to spoke curve. But then again, you never know. That's why I'm asking if you saying that the HX wheels won't fit on the front of the Fit is based on experience.

Thanks

i can't tell you it will or won't fit but it's definitely a light wheel vs. a steelie.

Thank you siccmonkey. That's definitive enough for all.

Glad I didn't just go pick up the set that was for sale before checking here.

Just for future reference, what IS the offset on the HX wheels? I'm guessing it is +50 since if it's +45, it should be the same as the stock steelies, and therefore, no clearance issues.
