SCCA H-Prod. Road Racing

Hi,

I see that the 07-08 Fit is an approved SCCA H Prod race car. The car can weigh as little as 1900# w/ driver have 11:1 CR and have a cam with as much as 0.390in. lift.

So has anyone given this configuration any thought? I've read the top speed discussion and suspect the "stock" 116 mph isn't going to get it on track , but I suspect that is with a car thats 2,650# with driver? little less compression and I have no idea what a stock cam's lift is?

I'm pretty interested in hearing knowledgeable opinions on this potential race car configuration. Current cars that the Fit would be competing against include the 1.5 CRX at the same weight, 1.8 Golf 2,050# and others. The SCCA Runoffs will be held at Road America where top speed will be more important than handling as it is a very long wace track at around 4 miles

Thanks in advance

The problem with the Fit is its enormous frontal area. If competition is allowed open cars as I remember in H or closed with low height I think Fit is back off the pack.
