Lightbulb Delimma- Info needed

I have been a member of this forum for a little while and never really posted but I have a situation.

A assist with one of the race teams that frequents Buttonwillow for Redline time attack and Superlap battle, having seen plenty of modified Honda fits diving corners out there.

So this is what is happening with me. My boss decided to make a little wager with me for the next event we head back out there. With my stock Honda Fit I have to run no more than a 2:10 and if I cant beat that time I have to dedicate myself to nothing else but our race car for two events instead of anything else.

The problem is I have seen those modified Fits running around 2:06's and I would like some feedback from someone who has taken a stock fit out there to see what they ran.

Honestly any info would be helpful.. but I can only see a stocker doing no better than 2:15

The only thing I can say is practice as much as you can before the race, if you are able to take your car out to the track before the lap you are betting on that would help a lot. Try to memorize or at least get a good idea of braking zones, shift points, optimum racing line, etc. If you aren't able to to that just take the Fit onto some back roads so and figure out how the car responds to near the limit. Of course by that I mean, as long as you don't break the speed limit...

I doubt that a stock fit can hit a 2:10 #13 cw at Buttonwillow. A stock fit should prolly be in the 2:20 and up range.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention see if he will let you take out the spare tire and see if you can fill it up with the least amount of gas possible.

cool

2:20 ... yeah thats what I was thinking more of... maybe 2:15 at best. Ive just wanted to see if anyone had the nerve to take a stock fit out there.

As far as the limits of a fit goes they arent that difficult to reach before the backend tries to sidestep the front.Mild-light understeer accented by abrupt rear end transition. XD Now if only I could modulate the rear with the throttle ......

Thanks guys

You might be able to do 2:10 if you got the stock wheels and put on

Extreme Performance Summer tires

Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R
or
Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec

And practiced.
