Race City "Secret Street" Autocross 2008
AUTOCROSS INFORMATION THREAD!
I believe Race City will be starting up the Secret Street events starting Friday May 2nd. (Unconfirmed)
Cost is 25$ for an evening, add 5$ to rent a helmet. Generally you get lots of seat time on the Autocross events and the option of getting at least a couple of runs at the drag stip (If you dare ) is also included.
The overall impression I got from this event when I particiapted last year is most poeple coming down to have a good time. Everything from Neons to Fits to STI's show up. I had a great time when I went, my little Fit posted some very reasonable times and I met lots of new people. A lot of people were saying the the Fit was one of the most capable cars on the autocross track.
Participants are pretty supportive and if you have never taken part in this kind of event the Race City staff do a good job of running through the basics with you and there is lots of encouragement for new drivers.
Basically you have any desire to put your foot down on the gas and see what you car can really do without the law pulling you over this is a great way to get out and do it both legally and more importantly, safely.

I have been attending almost every Friday for the last 3 years and I really enjoy it.
It gives people a chance to see what their cars can do in a safe and legal environment. It is generally decently organized and really cheap for what you get out of it.
It's also a great place to talk to other gearheads!

The only way to get real info is to call and some rumors went around that auto x would be closed for the entire season this year so I'm not sure.
We need to set something up where we'll all show up and do a bit of autox and drags on the same night.
My LX will beat all your sports because it weighs less lol

Damn, those are mean looking tires!! I saw them under the motorsports area on the website.... are they legal for street use?
Falken Tire
Looks like they do sell them in one size for 14" tires, a 195/60/R14
Now if only they sold them in 195/40/R17
