maybe some of you know that I am currently rockin' a set of 17x7 Buddy Club P1. In the future, I would also like to have a 16" setup since the car should be a bit lower imo.
Before planing, it would be cool to have some feedback from you and maybe experiences. Most importantly, I need the set for the daily drive but also for fun on track. I love the 16x8 look with stretched tyres but I am afraid of rubbing. My fenders are already rolled with 17x7...
So, what do you guys think? Will 16x7.5 rims rub in the back? I don't know if the slightly stretched look and track use can be combined. What about 16x7 on 195/50? Please help me out with some advice/suggestions. Thanks in advance.

That's only on skunk2 springs? Man, that's a slammed Fit. It definitely looks awesome, but I don't want to go that low for a daily drive. I think 7x16 seems to be the most uncomplicated setup but there's no stretched tyre look. By the way, very nice wheels.:-)

If you're going to lower 16x7 wheels will do best (any wider is useless) and offset 45 mm. Offset is the key; 45 mm is necessary. 195/50x16's will work fine as will 205/45x16 (best we think).

oh im very sori the reason why its so low....cuz im runing on cut stock spring in the pics .....lols.....but with the actual skunk2 (not pictured) its not that low but you can trust me theres no rubing at all when im running skunk2 springs.....but these cut springs are not so good with the roads....i have almost non stop rub issue.....but if u want stretched tire look then u should try 15x7 or 15x8 with 185/50 itll be more succesfull but remember doin this means offset comes in major play and fender rolling or pulling .......i wish it wasnt so painfull to run the strecth tire look where im frum......cuz i would do that with in a heart beat.... but in denver dodging pot holes and dips that are almost in a u shape is a bitch
16x7.5 +35 rims with 205/40/16. Lowered with endura-tech coilovers. Rubs a little on big dips. I need to lower it a lot more though. I'm going to roll my rear fenders too.
I got 16X7 +42 with 205/45/16 lowered on Progress springs. I think the only rubbing I have ever had was when I had the wheels turned and I hit a nasty bump like railroad crossings or uneven road surfaces.

I've already rolled and pulled fenders but please no more of it. I had to repaint fenders so that was truely a pain to me and my wallet...

Do you have any photo of your car? I've never seen that setup before, so it would be great if you could post a picture. However, I think I can't use 205/40/16 because I read that the speedo will not be that accurate.

Yes, that seems to be the most uncomplicated setup and my favorite at the moment. But, as I said before, I also consider 195/50 due to better handling for track use. I guess the width may be better, but I'm not sure since I only know 185/55/15 and 205/40/17 on my car.

It's time for another update. I think I'll have a look at a set of Work CR Kai 16x7 with +44 offset. Can you recommend them? I heard that Work rims are of great quality but I'm not sure about the weight. I want to have them in black but Work only offers bright metal, bronze and gun metal. Any suggestions for my yellow Fit?

If you lower, 205/40x16, otherwise then 205/45x16's. 45's speedo error will be about 2 mph at 60, odo about 20 milesper thousand, not significant. Mpg and acceleration will improve somewhat.
As for black wheels, I don't like them cause I like wheels that stand out. Black wheels are reduced to black blobs. take a photo and see. Only when black wheels are trimmed with striping, especially reflective striping, do they 'become visible'.

Thanks for sharing experiences about the tyres. I had a closer look at the diameter and I think 205/40/16 might be too low for a car that is also used as daily drive. Usually, I also like wheels that stand out but somehow I think that black rims may look good on 45 sidewalls. But of course it's a matter of taste.
I also think about another tyre size now. What about 195/45/16. According to the tyre size calculator, it is very close to the stock diameter. What do you think about it?

Thanks for the link. I think I have to get the rims here in Germany due to the fact that I need help to get these parts approved over here. However, I am relieved that these rims are offered in black. That's pretty cool. I am not sure about decals atm, maybe I won't put them on.

Nice thread. . . .im looking into 225 45 16. I didnt want the 16" wheel but its a must for the 12" rotor caliper to clear. I doubt it will fit inside the stock fender but i will go wider fender if i must. If i go 225 45 15 then i would sacrafice the 12" rotor and have an 11" rotor. And yes, its for racing. I wonder how well the 225 tire will go on a 7 inch wheel . . .

Unless you increase power of the Fit engine a lot you will lose performance with the 225 tires - too heavy, too big, and way over decent tire to ground contact pressure, even with Hoosiers.. 205 max is best and if stock power 195 will do it.

Thanks for trying to help. . . im going to have well over 300 hp. And as i recall when i worked on the grand am cup team on a type r we used 225 and the car had maybe 220 hp. When i tested at Daytona the car was set up for straight line speed and less on handling and it still stuck tothe ground like on rails. Think i have to go atleast 7.5 or 8 on a 45sidewall

When i tested at Daytona the car was set up for straight line speed and less on handling and it still stuck tothe ground like on rails. Think i have to go atleast 7.5 or 8 on a 45sidewall

Endurance road racing here in south america. Swaping in a k20 is alot cheaper than buying and shipping a racecar over here. Plus i prefer building it myself. The only FIT engine we have is the puny econo 8 valve. Im initially running in the 2 litre class but next year ill run the open class when i turbo or supercharge the K20. The thing is that anything more than 300-350 HP on a front drive is useless on a road course becasue of traction issues inhearant with front drive. Also thought about making it a rear drive and use S2000 powerplant but i dont want to cut up the FIT shell right now. So for now its a NA k20 with ITB,s Cams, the usual stuff. Waiting for Haltech to release theyr K20 standalone, stock internals, ferrea valve hardware, drysump. My main intrest is a 6 hour race. Look up in youtube (6 horas tocancipa, or 6 horas petronas)

I still have my IMSA CRX SiR with 180 hp that I take to the track regularly. I raced from mid 60's to 90's, mostly Hondas. Too old now. I like your setup plan. Good luck.
Check out you tube 'Hyundai Sundae' bit at VIR for an Azera video for a dealer. Though its a street car, still 2:33 is pretty quick but the SiR is 5 seconds quicker. So the Fit may not be that quick (mine struggles to break 3 minutes (automatic) but it has potential running against other econoboxes like Versa and Yaris..
Couldn't tell much from video. How about using a GoPro camera with fixturing to inside windshield to record whole lap. The GoPro wide angle camera is excellent choice and doesn't require expensive and complicated fixturing/mounting as it comes with camera. Cost somewhere $160-200 US on ebay or direct but its least expensive of all our video mounts. During racing we videotaped virtually every east coast race tracks for study and testing improvements. 16"x7.0" +45 will work. As for rubber, same as above. 205/45 is your best bet if you want to keep speedo/odometer errors to a minimum, but I've seen people rolling 195/50 here too and that size doesn't seem to be a problem either.
Regarding Work CR Kai colors...can't go wrong with bronze for your yellow Fit IMO. If you really want to approximate the black-wheeled look, gunmetal is a good enough substitute.
You and I share the same i-DSI engine on our Fits/Jazzes. There's a weight penalty for a larger wheel/tire combo that blunts acceleration and fuel economy somewhat, but personally it ain't so bad. Seems you've got the money to spend on rims. If money is no object, try to see if you can spring for lightweight wheels to offset the tires' heavier weight at the larger size. My wheel/tire combo is about 6 lb/corner heavier vs. stock.
16s are very livable for both daily driving and track use. HTHs Post photos after the install if it proceeds.
