Real Fit vs. Virtual Fit

Still floating after four days...

After enduring nearly two and a half months wait time for our new '07 TW Sport AT, it finally arrived last Friday. We are delighted with the vehicle! It's interesting to compare all the mental images, impressions, and great info obtained from this site with the actual car that is sitting in our garage or scooting us around our part of the world.

Looking at it from across the street, it's smaller than we envisioned but this is just fine. (Somehow all the pics on Fit Freak.net make the Fit appear larger than in real life). It's much roomier inside than we had imagined even after knowing all the specs and taking a short test drive. The TW is a beautiful color--crisp and clean. And the beige interior is not really beige but a mellow light grey on dark grey. (Both of these color options are being discontinued for '08--a true tragedy that we intend to get back to Honda about).

The intrumentation and sound system are really nice. My wife loves the blue gauges and speedo. Very cool at night with an FM Jazz station coming in loud and clear.

The drivability is fantastic, living up to all the acolades gleaned online during our wait. We are trying to be conscientious owners and keep the RPM's under 3000 (for the most part) and hard braking to a minimum for our break-in period. Even with those constraints, this little car is a hoot to drive. Plenty of pick-up for city driving and country roads. (Not freeway tested yet). It's manervability is almost hard to believe, enhanced today by the addition of a Progress Rear Anti-Sway Bar. (Just tested it on a downhill 90 degree right turn in our neighborhood--not even a hint of hesitation for the driver or the Fit).

Needless to say we are very happy with our new car. We'd like to thank all the members and administrators of Fit Freak for providing such illuminating impressions and information during our time of need. Now...we have the real deal. More later.

Aye

Yes, welcome and congratulations! It is THE MOST FUN car I have driven, and I have driven some fairly great cars. Most were faster, but none more fun than the Fit. Plus, 33 MPG is my usual. Not bad for having a good time.
