Trunk Mount Bike Rack

Is there a trunk mount bike rack that would work with Sport Fit? I understand the spoiler may present a challenge for mounting.

rack

I use something similar on my trunk. Spoiler does not get in the way of the strap clips.

Which model of rack are you using? Do the top straps just wrap over the top of the spoiler?

Do you have your rack hooked up to the spoiler?

Thanks for putting up the pictures. More questions...

Do the straps pull on the rear spoiler at all? It looks like you put some foam protectors on the bumper and have the straps go over them.

Can you also tell me the exact make and model of the rack that you are using? I like the red accent in the design.

the straps pull down on the spoiler, but not that much... i put the foam padding on there just so the straps wont scratch the paint... the rack is very sturdy when you put them on tight... the rack is made for 2 bikes but i have never tried it out... im a little afraid on how much stress 2 bikes will put on the spoiler... 1 bike is no problem though...

i got the rack at walmart for 30 bucks... they also have a 3 bike rack for 40... its made by bell... hope that helps...

You can take the spoiler off in less than a minute with a 10mm ratchet... that seems like a lot of stress to be putting on the spoiler since it's really only attached by two small bolts, I'd be careful. Also, for what it's worth, I've fit a 18 speed mountain bike in the rear seat area of my Fit with the front tire still mounted.

i dont wanna put my dirty ass bike inside of the car so i bought this cheap rack... but i am gonna go ahead and just put it on underneath the spoiler... i didnt do that to begin with because i take mine on and off all the time...

i know this is an old thread. anyone out there with the 2007 model using a bike rack?
i will have to see what its like removing the spoiler. that might be the easiest solution after all since i really like the removable mounts (saris my fave) and will be utilizing 2 bikes

thank you
