WTF??? Has anyone ever seen this?

I've been experiencing vibration at highway speeds, so I took a look under the hood. Look what I found: Broken engine mount bolt on the passenger side.... I've never heard of this problem before. I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow. I expect them to repair this under the powertrain warranty. Certainly explains vibration if the damn engine is moving!!!!

It is not unusual for one bolt to go from the top and other from the bottom when it comes to motor mounts. "Feel" it from underneath.

Is there a bolt there? Or is there suppose to be a stud with a nut on it?

I just checked my car. Thats normal and it doesnt seem like youre missing the bolt as I can see the end of it.
Your vibrations may be the front transmission mount though.

Let me find the thread.
It's just studded in there? that's kind of odd.

Its a bolt from the bottom of the mount as Ivan mentioned. Notice the nut to the right? Thats studded, then a bolt from the bottom on the left.

OK. Gotcha.

The mount is threaded so no need for a nut on the end? Is that correct? It's just a flush bolt from the factory?

EDIT.

Hold.... Let me correct myself. Theres 1 threaded stud pressed into the mount.
2 nuts are used on either side of the mount. That stud and nut you see at the bottom of my pic looks the same on the other side of the mount. Except the stud closest to the bottom of the pic looks to be mounted to the engine.

Thank you very much for this information as I had just assumed that this bolt should have a head. Thanks for the info about the other mounts, I'll have them checked at the dealer.

i think you would see traces of where the bolt head was on the mount
if indeed that was a broken bolt.
