Question about clutch pedal noise

I have a question about my clutch pedal - after just 400 miles on my Fit, the clutch pedal has started to make some noise. When I depress the pedal it makes a small clunk/click noise from the pedal area and then when I release the pedal, it makes the noise again.
Anyone have this or know what it is?
Thanks

Can anyone with a manual 5 speed tell me if their clutch pedal gives a little knock when they press the pedal (a little knock which can be felt and heard, happens about 3/4 way pressed) and again when they release it?

I would appreciate it.

I took it to the dealer - they said "it is normal" - what a shocker

Look around under the hood.

Follow the clutch line coming off the master cyl (little reservoir off firewall) to the slave cyl. See if anything is loose. It should all be tight. Have someone push the clutch in and out while youre looking around.

Also check under the dash.

The knock is coming down from the pedal area itself - I had a look but I could not tell where it is coming from. There a couple of switches that the pedal turns on and off as it is pressed but they just make the normal small clicks not the knock sound.

If it is "normal" then why is there (so far) no one else on this thread having this issue?

Maybe the pedal assembly itself is coming loose? Since the knock does it seem like the pedal has more play?

I wouldnt really worry about it. I wouldnt even notice the sound myself. My Mx6 makes squeaking noises going in and out when I press the clutch.

Does it make the same sound whether you push the pedal from the right, left, top, bottom, etc? Just wondering if the place where the pedal goes through the floor isn't missing some slippery piece of plastic.

Yup, mine does it. 1200km. I noticed it about a week ago. I'm going to get it checked at the first oil change, along with the driver side wiper blade. There is nothing "normal" about it. About half way through the depression it makes a quiet click sound. That would not bother me, (starter interlock switch?) but I can feel it at the same time, and it never used to do that.

i have a slight click too but im not going to loose sleep over it. It's a clutch, a moving part, its alright for it to make a tiny bit of noise. ill start worrying when i hear the sound getting worse and see it start to leak

I have a base MT and haven't noticed any sounds or weird feelings from the clutch, but I do get a weird sort of clinking dropping sound when I first drive off from being parked. Not exactly sure where it's coming from but seems to be right around under the front seats. At first I was thinking I was driving over something, but then when it continued to happen I thought maybe something was hanging off the bottom, but I don't think that's it either. Maybe the brakes? But I'm not breaking. I read on another thread something weird with the AT transmissions, but I have MT so I don't think it's the same. Anyone have a similar problem? Could it be cold engine related? The car doesn't seem to drive any different but I'm pretty sure the sound is coming from me.

The dealer ended up replacing the clutch interlock switch and the problem is gone. There is a slight click noise still but this is normal not like the knock/clunk that I had before - keep this in mind before you go running off to your local dealer.

Exactly Gordio - mine would do it about 2/3 or 3/4 way down and again on the way back up as you release the clutch. Definitely not normal and it drove me mad for a week before the stealer fixed it.

Gordio, are you responding to my non-clutch related noise or the clutch issue?
