how central? i live in mansfield. columbus is about and hour away, so i would prefer a weekend meet if others are interested, due to work and such. but i am interested for sure.

I was thinking of a weekend as well.
As far as location, it should be one that would be central to where people would be coming from.
define "local". i live in mansfield, i'm sure that we don't want to meet here. i don't really know anyone at columbus area honda dealerships, but would be willing to put the time in if someone can suggest good dealers and get me started. and if someone else wants to get the ball rolling i can help in any way i can. thanks for the idea popeye.

There is only one dealer in Columbus that I would suggest and would be Hugh White Honda. It is family owned and they really take care of their customers. Most of the other dealers here care more about what is more important to them (the bottom line) than the customer.
Would love to help out with this as much as I can.
I talked with Hugh White and they are willing to host the event! I emailed the dealership because i wasn't sure who to talk with. i got a response from the general manager, who said it sounds like a good idea. he wants to know how many people would be showing up. i haven't responded with a number yet, but i will be contacting him probably tomorrow to talk more about it. any ideas as to how to round up the troops?
as many of us know, and JonasM has recently pointed out, many of us are still without Fits at this moment. Perhaps it will better to wait until more arrive and set up a meet for maybe Spring time? What do we think about that? any thoughts, suggestion, comments?
If the timing is right, I can show up in my S2000. Is that OK? I doubt my Fit will arrive before November.
JonasM
Yeah I think that would be fine
As I know a number of you are waiting I still think it would be a great idea to do it during the fall sometime.
And I had an idea. Whoever talked to the Hugh White GM could ask him if they could contact the owners of the Fits that they sold to see if they would like to participate in the meet. Or ask if they could advertise it. It would be a big win for them.
We could maybe setup a couple grills, etc and make it a family kind of event.
You have my 100% participation and help.
Any thoughts ?

i can call and ask. i've spoken with them a couple of times and they seem really willing to help us out. i thought about them calling the owners, but i wondered how many they have sold. the dealer in my town only gets one a month...

I think they have done pretty good sales wise - you may want to ask the GM.
And maybe we should put togther a flyer, etc. that they can send out
