aveo with S/C ecotec? uh oh...
recently read this months super street magazine(mostly for the womens). one of the featured cars was an aveo with a cobalt S/C ecotec shoehorned inside. slightly built, the reported numbers were 286HP and 218 TQ. not bad. kind of makes me hesitant to race an aveo at the track now.... darn, it was the only thing i can beat! BTW, ever watch a subcompact drag race?
it's like watching a herd of turtles....:popc:
i can't seem to find anything about it online though. even Stupid Street's website is hush?

really sounds like too much engine for too little car. the fit has handling issues with just 250hp from the K series engine. i can't imagine 300hp in an aveo (which handles like beans in oil on a cast iron skillet!)

i think its one of those joint adventures. GM owns the car, but Whitfield racing did all the work. think of it as a win-win-win situation. GM gets free R&D, whitfield gets to develope the swap, and the consumer gets to buy the red headed step child that is born. lol:rotfl:

you'd be surprised at how light an all aluminum LS engine is. probably wouldn't weigh any more than a fat chick in the passenger seat

You're right about the handling. A friend of mine had a regular Aveo as a rental last year, and he said that thing was HORRIBLE! Of course, he likes my Fit lots more. :D
