A/C Black Death
A/C Black Death
So it happened. Wife’s 2007 a/c stopped working last summer. I took out a shim and got a few weeks. Then replaced the coil and it a few more weeks. Finally found one at the jy and went to install today only to find black goo in the low side. Put a towel in there and metal shards came out. Took the old compressor apart for ish and giggles, and there is metal everywhere.
The high pressure line is clean, so I’m wondering what I need to replace vs flush. Any help appreciated.

Pull high pressure hose from the condenser (upper hose and check for contamination (easier to say than done!). If metal shavings are pumped trough the system it may stop in the receiver /dryer (part of the condenser).
