13 Years and Counting for Original Exhaust
13 Years and Counting for Original Exhaust
I am pleasantly surprised by the longevity of my 2008 Fit exhaust system.
It has 130K km and has seen a majority of short trip city driving in it's lifetime. I live in Ottawa where we have long cold winters (lots of salt too), so short trips are not helpful to exhaust preservation.
I wonder if it's partly to do with the small engine warming up quickly or a high quality OEM exhaust?
Anyone else have a similar experience with their exhaust?

Same here. 2007. I'm base in Trois-Riviere, québec. So Plenty of bad winter with salt and everything associated with it (and some rust on the car wheel well). The Funny thing, I do have to change my muffler. From the outside it is fine... but the internals are rattling as they are becoming loose. If it was not for that, it would be fine. The pipes are still okay, not shiny, but not bad ( and they can plenty of snow and stuff stuck on them).
I wonder if at 180 000 KM, My cat. Converter is still okay. I have been having o2 sensor Code, despite the sensor that throw the code have been replaced with a OEM denso equivalent 3 years ago..
That not related... but headlights bulb and most bulbs, also last forever .

I still have my 2007 GD1. Gone 140.000 km and only had to replace the brake pads a few times on all wheels and rotors in the rear.
I also live in an area far up north with a lot of cold weather and they do also salt the roads here (northern part of Norway, above the arctic circle)
