04 fit power loss after long drive

Hie i have an 04 honda fit 170k milage. Whenever i travel it starts to lose power especially going uphill. If i try to put my foot on the gas it starts to jerk. The only solution is to climb uphill slowly. If i park and turn it off then on again i will have some power but only for a few minutes. It does not throw any codes and no checklight. Please help!

Hard to say, sounds like spark plugs or coils might be bad? Could also potentially be fuel pump/injectors, but that would be more a sudden or consistent loss in power, not just jerkiness at wide open throttle. I would think a code would be thrown. Got any more specifics? Might just have to bring it in to a mechanic :s...

We changed the plugs and the coil packs still no change. Also the fuel pump but still nothing. Decided to change the intank fuel pump housing with the filter in it and it was better but started jerking after 140km. Its difficult to show mechanics the problem cause it happens after a long drive and under hot tempretures it comes up quicker. To me it seems like the engine is not getting enough fuel. If i pullover whenever theproblem comes up while still in D i can feel the engine jerking something like an engine thats misfiring. But when i turn the ignition off then on again it goes back to normal.

Super weird... injectors perhaps? Not sure if it will help, maybe try running one or two bottles of fuel system cleaner on your next fill ups? If the injectors are bad then that’s a bit of a pricey repair . If you’ve fixed the fuel pump and filter and it feels like it might be a fuel issue, injectors might be worth checking. But no harm in using some fuel system cleaner either way. Hope you figure this out!

Finally solved the problem after 4 years. It was the ECU . It was giving wrong information to the transmission and the engine. We changed it and the problem was solved.
