Suspension modified by previous owner, or failing components?

Hello fellow Fit owners and everyone else. So, I became an owner of a base 2007 Fit in LX trim. And after a while I noticed that the rear suspension is lower than on many pictures of this model. The previous owner didn't give me any info on that, so I assume it's either a modification or a failing suspension components. The former seems more likely tbh, given the spoiler and some decorative elements added.

The car handles well, at least I don't feel any unusual behaviour, apart from occasional bumps on the road. Do you think I should be worried about this? I live in Western Canada, so higher clearance might help, but it's not a big deal for me while within the city. Thank you.
Tires are winter 175/65 R14.

Couple of stock photos for comparison:

Photos of the rear springs? Might just be sagging factory springs.

Rust rust rust. That suspension is trashed.

Look at all of that heavy rust on the rear wheel from the couple pics you posted. Extremely heavy.

The steel wheels on my GD3 looked like that in 2013 dude.

OP needs to post a picture of their springs.

And if the rot is that bad on the outside. You can imagine what his chassis looks like. 10x worse like most cars.

PS: that rust is very heavy and isn't normal for any vehicle in any way.

It's normal when you live in an area that snows and isn't the PNW.

That looks like surface rust to me.

Car probably didn’t get cleaned often enough.

I’ve owned enough cars with rust to say they are much less predictable than one imagines. Rusty exteriors can have really clean chassis and vice versa.

That's a brand new car for the Midwest.
If you think that's bad, your head would explode if you saw what people drive around here.
