ATF filter change

Hi guys,

I have a honda fit 2007, replaced the ATF and filter multiple times. This week I called the dealership to ask for prices and the guy said "you don't need a filter. We don't change it - the ATF only."
I haven't heard the filter is not to be replaced. Please share your experience. BDY- $9 per Qt.

Changing filter not common. Also difficult on the GE. Access.

I changed the ATF filter on our 2013 (GE8) at near 60,000 Miles just after buying the car used. It wasn't too bad to change out, access might be worse on the Gen1. I just did it to be safe. The fluid looked terrible.

I've done it on my 2007, the battery and the battery tray have to come out, but that's it. Relatively easy. Got the filter from the local Honda dealer, and they didn't even know that there was a filter! Car is about due for another change, ATF and a new filter is sitting on the bench.
