GD idsi to ivtec swap. Help.

Hello from the Philippines. I know this has been discussed here already but I can't seem to find the link. I currently own a 2006 GD which I race in Rallycross . In my bracket we race 1300cc and below displacement. All normally aspirated. My engine is a stock 1300 idsi. I wanted to do an L13A ivtec swap. My only problem is that most of the engines available here are all automatics. Will there be a problem if I use the engine with the ECU ? Considering that the ECU is from an automatic tranny?

Also, will the ivtec head be compatible with the idsi block if I go the head swap route?

Thank you for your help. Cheers!

No idea, but how did you go about mounting the back mud flaps? They look great. Good luck!

Looks like fun! An engine swap seems like a lot of effort for what looks like a 12hp difference between the DSI and the VTEC 1.3L engines. Perhaps you could just do some (naturally-aspirated) mods to narrow the gap a little, e.g. porting/polishing on heads?
