That's what I would do.
If it was me, I would remove one or both front seats for easier access and to make sure no gas gets on the upholstery. Removing the seat(s) will also make it easier to cover/protect the carpet.
If you attempt to remove the seats, unplug the battery, pull the four seat anchor bolts, and then lean the seat backwards a bit to give you access to the electrical connections.
