BUT, we dont drive a "popular" car. we drive the fit. this is like the civic shuttle of the late 80's/early 90's. what products are being produced for those, today? the crx, ef hatch, and most, if not all, other civics are the "popular" car

hmmm good point
but i think they're still gonna make aftermarket parts just simply because it's a honda and people are going to mod their honda, someone is going to realize that and make a shit ton of $ off it

Companies have stopped making products due to the dead economy.
Just wait.... Greddy wont be the only company declaring bankruptcy.

I think what's more important/unfortunate is with the release of the GE8, these forums have gone to shit (just as I predicted). I used to check this place daily with my other everyday look-throughs but I check here maybe once a week now. Even with the increase in visitors, there's less shit going on and the stuff that does get posted is boring.

This has what to do with the manufacturing of GD parts/accessories?
Lets not make another GD vs GE thread again.

All you have to do is never visit their section. Thats what I do.

yeah but most of us I assume just go to New Posts and have to weed through the 2nd gen crap to get to what concerns us. Maybe make a way to filter out GE stuff when I hit new posts?

well life is too simplified really. Everything is so convenient for the most part. I'm not going to get into a philosophical debate in this forum, but there's not much else to bitch about in life except dumb shit!

Haha not related to parts but simply going off of the title. I think the title is broad enough to point out the reality.

I've checked the GE8 section I honestly believe twice at most since the creation, but all the forum sections are just dying as well. I miss how good the pics/vids section was, and absolutely no offense to you, Ray, seriously, as you have like the sexiest Fit on here, but I'm tired of being pleased by only threads you make.

On topic though, considering bRos like Spoon and Mugen are messin' with the Fit, I don't think aftermarket goods will go away, only get better. Never gonna achieve Civic-status though, and I'm happy about that.

it's going to be a tough market for the next few yrs... smaller brands will probably
be forced to only carry GE stuff.

why are you saying it will be a tough market? because of the economy right now...yes. but there is no reason for a company not to make parts for cars if people are willing to buy them and not bitch about pricing.

hummmm... this is a very interesting post. cause it seems like
it's contradicting itself but yet there is a common sense that sort
of makes sense. yet still kind of contradicting.

like eating icecream while you're sitting inside a kotatsu in the winter.

let's see how many people will pre-order parts (prepaid) so
that manufacturers can have a sound order they can produce to.
then we have no issues cause everyone will not have to take
any risks. if anyone backs out, the ones that dont back out will
just pay the higher price to cover for that person.

it's really hard to tell... when was the last time anything was developed for the mk1 cr-x or mk1 integra? of course the market for aftermarket parts during those generations are much different than today's markets but we're finding out everyday that certain GE parts will not be backwards compatible with GD's like the civics and integras of yore. i guess only time will prove whether the GD3 will repeat 1st gen history........ God i hope not

i second kenchan, buy your aftermarket parts while they're still available

yah thats true. you are aware that not all parts are compatible?
like some suspension bits are a tad different. sure you can make them
fit, but not everyone wants to do that.

but given the situation people might be desipate enough to do so.
