Cool NHBP Sport w/ Base hatch (pics)

Swapped hatches with a Base Fit owner to lose the spoiler. Finally got the tint done last weekend (limo) so here are some pics. There aren't very many pics on FitFreak of Sports going spoilerless so I wanted to contribute. Sorry about the picture quality, it's not the best.

Not feeling the spoilerless, but the paint looks nice! No spoiler makes it look more like a minivan.

yeah i'm under no illusion that this will be popular amongst the FitFreak crowd overall. there are some people here who just don't like spoilers and I happen to be one of them. I see the minivan thing too, I prefer to see it as a wagovan thing. I used to have a Base Fit which was totaled and I always have preferred the smooth upper rear end it has without the spoiler there.

anyway, on with the confusion...

not feeling it. definitely looks like a miniature Odyssea van from the rear.

definitely has a major soccer-mom van feel to it dude. Gotta say.

Haha, no. We both have keyless entry otherwise it wouldn't have worked out very well. Honda quoted me ~$200 to swap out the lock mechanism to match. I think I'll be waiting a while before I decide to do that. No reason.

I tried taking the spoiler off first. It leaves 5 holes that are troublesome / expensive to cover up. Swapping w/ a base hatch leaves a much cleaner look, on the cheap.

Not really planning on it but if my GF has anything to say about it I will.

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

Agreed! I kinda like it too, it just takes a little time to get visually used to it. Nice mod and unique, and maybe you might get slightly more mpg.. hehehe I was actually thinking of maybe doing this myself also.
