Vent air-flow

I noticed when using the heat with the vent air-flow dial set for floor, a small amount of heated air comes through the side dash vents and from the floor area. I really like it, but was wondering if anyone else has noticed this? According to the owner's manual - the air-flow should only be vented to the floor when the dial is selected as such.

Either way I guess I'll assume it's not a problem - especially since I really like the feel of the warm air surrounding me.

yeah if i'm correct, the two side vents are always on in all settings, the one that shuts off in the foot mode is the middle ones. but you can turn the side ones off manually at the bottom right? You can in most cars but i never do so i dunno if the Fit can or not

This is probably an automatic feature meant to keep side windows fog free.

I actually thought that might be a deliberate design for that reason. Great to know it isn't exclusive to my Fit or a problem. Go Honda!

My Jag did this too, along with my dads truck. I think most new cars do this to keep the windows from fogging up.

This is the same on all Honda vehicles. The side vents are on at all times. They let you turn them off or on.

Put it in recirculate mode and it should stop.
