How delightful! My "Haaka 7's" are profoundly superior to anything I have ever driven on in winter, and I am 62 Y/O.

I question that chart. I used to run studded tires and didn't think they were particularly good on snow. Good on ice yes but not so good on snow. Well have to see how my new xIce 2 tyres perform this winter.

Just came on here to recommend Home - Discount Tire Direct . I picked up my Falken winter tires for a great price, also $25 off, and free shipping (to the border as I'm in Canada). Glad to see my tires on that list!

I've had various snow tires on my Honda's: Blizzak's, Hakka's, Winterforce, and several cheap-o brands like Hankook, Winter claw (or something like that). Here is my observation. They all work fine. In fact, after buying Blizzak's and Hakka's for years, I tried Hankook's on a whim and I saw zero difference in snow performance. They were a bit more squirmy than the Blizzak's on dry pavement, but no difference in snow. I have since switched to Hankook iCepts and am perfectly happy. Especially considering they're $40+ cheaper per tire. Just put the snow tires on today. Ready for another winter.

The tires definitely make the most difference. Here's a recent video from Auto Express that shows this point extremely well:
