THe only purpose of getting a tow hook if your car will never see the track is for crash damage. I guess it does make a nice accessory though. But i had a tow hook on my last car, and i backed up into my friends car and nothing happened to my car =]]. LOL. but i did end up owing him 600 for repairs. LOL!

I like em Lookin for just the rear in gold, benen of course. Sucks that everybody sells em with the front for 110 bucks. A benjamin for a tow hook = economy fail.

Iam rocking a benen rear tow hook..i've had one since 2002...i originally bought it for my dc2...bought a dc5 and put it on that and actually used it..needed to tow the dc5 to the dealer twice...very useful and protects the rear bumper from the chains or winch cable when being pulled up the flat bed...had it laying around so i put it on the gd3...oh and theres nothing rice in any of my cars....

i agree. most people say its rice, i say it comes in handy cause if you need to tow something last minute you can do so without damaging your bumper, the tow hook is like an extension. rice or no rice, its all about how you see it and use it.

Might as well add a third headlight while you're at it. Sometimes the included ones just don't cut it, might as well be prepared.

Coming back to this thread;

First I call rice on the rear tow hook, because there is already a fixed tow hook there. This is just flashy extra stuff. I don't think you will damage your bumper using it, I could be wrong though... I have a hitch on my car that covers it up.

I call rice for two reasons on the front tow hooks... the first is it is an accessory that is made removable. To leave one installed at all times defeats the purpose of having a removable tow hook. The second is for all the nay-sayers that say it is functional... you already have a tow hook!!! This is extra and the only difference is the brand and color!

Yes but everybody who owns a fit also owns one (well two) by default

Am I the only person that got a factory tow hook included with the car or something?

If you have not already found it for yourself, have a look through your jack kit and you should find a screw in tow hook for the front. Maybe I am wrong and this is just a Canadian thing... lol

Definitely not a Canadian thing bro...we get it too.

Heck, the tool kit even throws in a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the little cover on the front bumper. The cover hides the threaded hole where you screw in the tow hook. Talk about forward planning.

If it is something you would want on your car I say go for it. I voted no but of course I have this hanging off
my tow hook:

I hate the term rice because if you want to do it and as stated it could save a little bit of damage. My car will never see a track but Mugen racing pedals are installed. You have a concept and a direction for what you are doing with the car - let your vision take you there!

Dude its your money, you do what you want with it. If you think its nice and you like it might as well go for it. Like Cat said its your car and your vision do what you think is nice.
