USB Interface

USB Interface
Hello all.
I have an '07 Fit Base that I'm going to be putting a keyless entry/secruity system in and figured that while I was at it, I'd do something about my music setup. I currently go through the radio (no auxiliary jack) and, well, it's annoying. So, I found this:
Honda USB Audio Interface - Bernardi Honda Parts and Accessories
It specifically says that it needs a Fit '09, and I know that the '09 Sport comes with the USB interface. My question is: Are the two models so different that I couldn't get that installed in the '07 Base? I don't know much about audio systems, so I don't see what could be so different between hooking up the music link and a usb interface.
I figured that I would ask you nice people before I go to the dealer and try to pretend I understand what they're saying.

I think that it would take a audio system that can access music files through the USB port, the flash drive or hard drive you would hook up has your music in files that a computer can open but not a standard audio system.

A way
I installed a USB port/MP3 player in my 2008 base fit (same stereo as the 07). See my thread here:

There are other aftermarket kits that will work if you don't want to take a chance on eeeekbay/china. The kits fake the stereo into thinking it's attached to a CD changer so you get use of most of the controls on the stereo.
