I "suggested" to my sons that they wash my car for me for Mother's Day, and then I showed them how to do it properly, with 2 buckets, using the cloths carefully, etc. They haven't cleaned the glass yet but one vacuumed and the other did the exterior.
I am too picky to let a car wash ruin my paint.
I love my car!

I have to agree. My wife had been feeling guilty for quite some time driving a 4Runner and wanted something smaller. We went to the Honda dealer to check out the CRV. We were debating between that and a Rav4. As we were leaving the dealership my wife stopped for a minute to look at a FIT Sport in the show room. Then she got in and sat down. That was it. We both really liked it and bought one after a short test drive. If I had to find anything to complain about it would be the black interior. If that's the biggest problem I have I've got it made.
The Rav4 felt so cheapy inside and it was WAY more expensive. Even the high-end model still felt plastic-y and cheap. And heavy. The first time I drove the Fit i loved it. It just took a while for me to realize how much I loved it.
I said it a year ago and I'll say it now, the Fit feels like your own because it's 3 years old in the USA and it will go the way of the Civic where no matter what you do, they will all look the same. It'll just take time. But for now, for now...they all look magnificently sexy and original.
give it a couple more years... you'll be all over it. JK. Time and time again, I've told myself how great the fit is. I think its Honda engineering, how efficient and fun to drive the car is that makes it so enjoyable.
I have a feeling that this car will last me for a very long time. i like the fact that there aren't alot GD drivers in the US, it's almost kind of like an exclusive car club...... but not really
it stands out in a sea of civics, camrys, mustangs, tahoes, and every other popular vehicle on the road.
our cars are very UNIQUE
GD3 FTW!

I feel very attached to my fit.. I bought mine in the height of the craze back in 2007. It's my first new car, and I make all my payments myself. I got it for 200$ UNDER msrp too! I told the dealership that I would throw a fit (ha!) if they put pinstripes on it, and had them do tints instead
I even waited 3+ months for the right one to come in. MR MT FTW!

Maybe in Florida where the Fitfreak high-rollers all seem to live they are a dime a dozen but here in WV I could drive for twenty more years and not see one just like mine! So far I have not even laid eyes on another modded VBP Fit live and in the flesh. They may be out there driving around, but I can't seem to find them. And the GD will always and forever be a three year old car, its the GEs that they will make (and sell) a trillion of
Much like the Civic though there is something about he Fit that inspires a cult-like following that will probably last a very long time

The GD3 was in the USA for two years only and that's it. The GD3 model will NEVER turn into a civic scene due to the fact that the number of fits made/sold in those two years in nothing to the amount of old civics around. As for the future of the car and the other models it is possible for them to turn into the civic scene but it will take some time. Those with a GD3 be proud your car is somewhat rare!
Thats what im talking about every time i wash my car and i park it some where the sun can hit it i fall in love with it more... or when i leave it in a parking lot and the right light hits it. Im waiting to get my rims and the other things i want and do a nice shoot.

I know it will with me....So true. Its the same here. I've seen a few Fits around where I live but they are pretty rare. And I've only seen one other BOM a couple of times only.
I originally was going to wait & buy the new 09 GE, mainly for the options it offered. But I fell in love with the GD3, especially after I saw one in person and sat in it. And buying an orange car was not on my radar either but something about the BOM color moved me, the way it changed color with sunlight and shade. Everytime I'd see it (over a period of about 3 weeks) I fell in love a little more. I love its uniqueness, the headlights, and the flow of the body style. This forum helped in the decision to buy one, but I was already hooked.
I also love the fact that the GD3 rare in NA. The "new" Fit will be around a long time, and the new 09s are nice, but I agree with Contrabida, that GD3 owners have something special.

Me too! I want new wheels sooo bad!
I'm keeping mine till I have a family of my own, too...which is to say it'll last me a pretty long time (and I'll try to ensure it does).
I also do the looking-back-and-smiling bit. I've shared my story of liking the Fit/Jazz ever since I saw it on a magazine in January 2002, and its appeal hasn't waned a bit. If anything, it's gotten even more appealing with every DIY mod I apply to my Aibo. (Latest one was a DIY Recaro SRD seat install.)
Good design stands the test of time, it seems. I remember a fellow Pinoy poster on another forum hailing the GD Honda Fit/Jazz as a design classic right up there with the evergreen VW Beetle.

Having owned 3 series BMWs , E class mercedes, Audi, VW and Toyotas as daily drivers, I have to say with the exception of the BMWs this '09 Fit Sport SSM is the most fun to drive, and is the car I feel best about buying. It does everything right, gets better gas mileage than my Kawasaki, is solid as a rock and (except for the hair-magnet interior cloth) is perfect. Every other car, except for the toyota needed alot of fussing with to keep things right. The 330ci needed major suspension work after just 70k miles. The mercedes A/Cs didnt blow cold air and had squeaky fans. The Audi window switches went bad all the time as did the VWs. This Honda just feels like the smartest choice I've made, and I've already convinced my mother in law to replace her constantly breaking jeep grand cherokee, and my wife also wants one now. Honda is just plain good stuff that is engineered with intelligence. I also do the "look back" haha and thought I was the only one.
Everyone does the "look back" thing for sure... The fit is a pretty cool car especially when you have a couple visual mods done 2 it. My ultimate plan is 2 get a carbon fiber hood.. a carbon fiber hatch and maybe a spoiler also along with the mugen visors and my rims.. By then ill do the "look back" thing at all times lol.

. i promised myself because these things are starting to get expensive. other than car payments and general maintinence, I won't buy anything for her. she's getting spoiled, i like how she looks right now.
to me, she's perfect.
