Unlike those old cars. The roof is very important for integrity. Prepare for massive body flex.

I'd go with a real sunroof. Plexiglass just sounds ghetto. It will get scratched real easy.

yeah personally i would not do this. seems like it would mess with the body rigidity to much

i think it would fit your gd3 felix. just make sure to add extra bracing on each end of the roof. its not like your going to be tracking your car so im sue it will be fine.

ooh u can make an extra "Reinforcement Roof Cage" along the roof.. It could make a big X through the center, kinda defeats the purpose of having a full view roof but still, it'd be pretty sick

our roof is only made of a thin sheet metal with only 3 supporting beams which are there to hold the sheet metal up
it is not for strength
if u check out the spoon fit vid on youtube
theres a part where they had a striped out fit and the guy was explaining the structure of the body, clearly stated that Honda made the fit with a weak roof to save weight and a strong floor for stiffness

My opinins are plexiglass would be better then a sunroof cuz it flexes and will flex with the roof of a car
one reason why a aftermarket sun roof leaks is cuz the glass isnt flexing with the body thats why it leaks

Scratches isnt a problem I can get those clear bar tape to protect it

i think,

dont do it. youll be miserable when the sun is out. you hair will be lit on fire while driving the car like a magnifying glass. your a/c will not be able to make you feel any cooler

if you do, youll have to make the oem roof upholstery a roll-up so it can be a sun shade.

he lives in bc... sun burning is not a big scare but maybe cold weather cracking the glass might be a problem?

How are you planning on forming it to the contour of the roof?
Also, something like lexan would be better than plexiglass

i remember watching street customs, featuring west coast customs and they made a couple clear roof cars through another company, i cant remember the name for the life of me but they need you to supply a roof plug the same contour and side you want and they form the polycarbonate to that shape.. wouldve been easier thinking of this before painting your car though..

if i can cut the roof...i think custom curtains are easy enough
