Setting autolock on GD

I'm really embarrased to ask this noob question but does any GD owners out there remember how to setup the auto lock for the GDs. You know, the one that locks your doors as soon as your shift out of "P" and unlocks when you shift back to "P" (Auto transmission of cause).

I remember setting up the lock myself back when I first got the car, but its been sooo long ago and I cant seem to find the instruction on the manual anymore... Ironically I know how to set it up on a GE =.=' (But it doesnt work on a GD)

Yes, go ahead and laugh, I know this is a stupid question coming from me =

/doesn't know the method

Wait, you can change the autolock settings on GDs? I didn't know that.

Just trying to spark your memory, could it be a certain sequence of hitting the lock and/or window switches while the key is in the on position?

/tagged for interest

I've been annoyed with the locks ever since I brought home the car. Honda could have put a powerlock button but no, they want us to lean over and pull the lock from the door. I've been driving an E36 and the doors would unlock the first time you pull the handle then pull it one more time to open the door. I wish that there was a way for the door to automatically unlock after you turn off the engine.

I too have been annoyed by this. I did not realize you could set it to lock/unlock automatically. I wish mine did that. It's the little things...

There should be different settings on the GD3. Mine is set up so that the doors DON'T lock at 9 mph..so they are open all the time unless I lock them.

Ask your Honda Sales Rep, mine set this up for me when I bought the car. Mine's a 2008 Fit Sport with M/T.

to use the auyo lock on gd you must first lift your right elbo and push down on the door lock itself , works everytime for me .

I think I am losing my mind. I could swear my wife's '08 Sport had auto lock and unlock, but when I checked the doors and then the manual--nada.

Rexorg, I'm feeling the same way...I'm sure my salesman set it for me back then.

My fit does NOT lock the doors at 9mph, is that the default setting? If someone tells me their GD3 locks at 9mph, we have the proof that it CAN be done. But how??

I have a aftermarket alarm on my Neon and the autodoor lock function is part of the alarm. It locks the doors when the brake is pressed for the first time and unlocks the doos when you swith off the ignition.
