That honestly made me feel sick seeing that. My gawd. A *very* big part of why we got our Fit was for the safety. Even still, that's unbelievable! Glad you guys are all right. What happened to the drunk jerk?

Not sure if this is entirely true but in kind of makes sense.
Gen 1 has a tendency to break right legs for some reason: per the IIHS:

Injury measures — Measures taken from the head, neck, and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions. Forces on the right tibia indicate the possibility of lower leg injuries.

Could be the engine hitting the firewall around the same area?
