New front brake pads at 160,000km

This is the FIRST replacement of the front pads. I should know, as I've had the car since new.

I reckon 160,000km on one set of pads ain't too shabby. :-)

Ahhhh very nice. I am usually up around 75K miles or so as well. I think a manual helps.

What pads did you get? Still the stock ones?

From experience, the stock Honda/Nissin brake pads are pretty good even with trackday abuse, although they obviously won't last anywhere near as long as 160,000 km.

Yeah, just the standard ones. I've always had this car serviced by the dealer, so when they phoned me mid-service this morning to say that the pads had finally got too low to survive to the following service - I asked them to chuck a new set in. I was already paying them to flush the fluid, so it seems to make sense!

They also did the window switch-pack replacement recall, and adjusted the valve clearances. Three exhaust valves were loose, and all of the inlet ones were ok. It had been sounding like a bag of bolts from cold start, so I was happy for them to have recommended the work at this mileage anyway.

My brake pads went after 30k...

...what kind of ceramic pads do u have (make) ? just wandering since the dealership told me to start thinking of replacing my stk pads (and rotors) within my next or two services.

<FYI i don't realy mind ...i've just hit 90,000km which meens that as per dealer recommendation i'd still be good at 120k'ish>

However it did get me thinking ...and now i'm looking at ceramic pads and "maybe" cross-drilled rotors. If anyone has anything they'd recommend or suggest ...it'd be appriciated! thx

How long do the factory brake pads last anyhow? I got my car in July of 08 and I have just a little under 20k miles now.

Well in my case, as with the title of the thread, if it's a 2003 1.3 manual - 160,000km or 100,000 miles is easily possible.
