It's for my wife... she's 5 ft only

Its OK to buy this car for a woman that's 5 feet tall? what about the angle of vision, etc?
She's comming from 1996 Civic and actually she has to put a pillow to drive it ...barely comfortable.
Thanks.

Javier

Hi!
I'm 5'4" and I think it's great!
No problems. I think it'll work out for her; she's only a few inches shorter. I can't imagine those few inches would make a huge diff!

Unless you're trying to surprise her, let her give it a shot herself. I'm a little taller that 5'0 but still wouldn't say she can fit in it just because of that, since we're all built differently. Although I can say the windshield on the Fit seems to give me a fuller view than past cars I've owned.

The Fit should be a perfect match. The seating position is high due to the location of the fuel tank, which is under the cabin. I honestly want an aftermarket seat so I can have a lower seating position.

yes, my girlfriend is no more than 5 ft tall either and she is fully capable of driving my fit and enjoys it too. cant say for sure for your wife, but i'd say its a safe bet in general.

Your wife should be fine driving pillow-less with the stock seats I reckon. The GD Fit has a high hip-point and a relatively short dashboard, so visibility shouldn't be a problem. If anything the car works better for folks of short stature (i.e. most Asians) - most complaints about the GD came from people taller than 6' AFAIK.

I'm 5'2 and the height of the seat is great... the only thing i have a problem with is that the lumbar support (the shape of the seat) feels like its made for someone taller and it doesnt really go with the curve of my back... i have to reposition a lot when on long drives....

especially the 09's are great for smaller people. the 07-08 do fine but the 09's have even better visibility.

and the pedals are close so even if you have short legs you can reach no problem.

for me they are a bit too close... im not big at all but i have long legs so a bit cramped.

Oh don't you have a GE8? I thought that GE8's have more comfortable seats than the GD's? Your problem can be fix by buying an aftermarket lumbar support.

I would think the Fit is a perfect car for shorter drivers. I remember it being like a bus driver seating position/view

I'm 5 feet tall and I bought this car partly BECAUSE it's so great for someone my height. I can reach the pedals fine, I don't need a pillow, the seat is comfy, I can telescope the wheel so that I'm not all on top of the steering wheel. It's a good fit.

Edit: oops. I didn't notice this was in the GD forum. I'm not sure if the GD is as good a fit as the GE for someone my height but it can't be too far off?

Actually I think that's just fine.

The GE is slightly bigger to cater for taller drivers, so if a 5' girl like you can drive it like a doozy it should bode well for GDs also, which are a better fit for shorter people.

For your sister's height I would recommend an 8th gen Civic because it is equipped with height adjustment.
