I think you're SOL on that one. You'll need a new head unit.

HAHAH. wow, that is pretty funny and kind of cute in a way. hahah. I'm sure you could take it apart though. I take apart DVDRW's at work all the time. Should be pretty simple. Give it a shot, besides you have nothing to lose. Might as well try before buying a new one. Good luck!

hahaha!

My kids did the exact same thing to my honda oddyssey cd player. You need to get the coins out asap because not only can it short your radio, but the dash/tail light circuit and accessory circuit go through the radio, so a short can really cause a major issue (ask me how I know hahaha).

What I did was to remove the radio and just turn it upside down so the coins would fall out. It has been fine ever since.

HAHAH. I just realized that the only reason that I never did this when I was a kid was probably because my parents cars didnt have CD players. LOL. But than again, I never put coins in the tape deck either. hahah

Loonies or Toonies?

How did a two year old get in the front seat?

Would something thin with maybe a piece of duct tape on the end maybe grab the coin(s)?

I would try using one of these Magnet Pickup Tools - Master Magnetics, Inc. magnetic tools, if you can find
one slim enough & go fishing with it. Most hardware stores or
other places sell those kind of tools.

HAHA. a Wii. The government should issue new coins that are an inch bigger than a CD. That way we can prevent kids from putting them into other electronics. LOL

Yeah, disconnect the battery before you go sticking magnetic tools in the CD slot. My recommendation is to try and pull the HU out and shake the coins loose. Also, go aftermarket if you have to buy a replacement. The stock HU costs upwards of $800.

I had a relative try to feed the VCR a banana. Yeah I know I just aged myself but it pretty much f'd up the VCR. If you can take apart the cd player, you should be able to take the coin out. Keyword, "IF".

Note-to-self, don't let 15 month old son near any cd players. Sorry about your luck, thanks for the heads up though, lol.

Have you tried hitting the eject button?

Unfortintaly the best advice I can give you is try taking the head unit out and shacking it, or taking it out good luck, hopfully it works out.

Pull the radio out using FITTOGO's instructions and the faceplate does come off. Be aware that Bolt 2 can be a royal pain in the ass to get to and get out. I'd have to go look at the spare HU I have in the shop, but it should be fairly simple to take the top off and get at the coins.

As it happens, I have a stock head unit (minus the faceplate) in the shop that does work.
