HFP wheels. Spacers
HFP wheels. Spacers
I want to put some spacers on my HFP wheels. Just the back. 15mm is fine i just want to make it more flush with the rear fender.
Im in class just want to make sure that the back of the HFP wheel has room for the studs to sit behind rite? Does anyone have a picture of the back of an HFP wheel? Also is anyone running spacers with these pictures would be a huge help! Thanks!

If memory serves me right, the HFP is a 16 x 6.5 et+55mm rim and the recommended tire size is a 205/45R16; adding the spacers would reduce that offset to +40mm and you may end up rubbing on the rear bumper's tabs, just shy of the screw. In addition to that, one member here had put 15mm spacers on their stock 15" alloys and had to get longer studs for it.
Also, according the wheel offset thread for GDs, a 205 tire will not rub on an offset +42mm or higher at stock height (+45mm and up lowered).

These spacers work differently. They go over your old studs and have new ones on them. That's why you need room behind the wheel.
You can see more information here.
15MM Aluminum Bolt-On Wheel Spacers
And after class I will measure the gap i think 15mm shouldnt rub

That'd be awesome! Instead of me taking my wheels off. Just let me know im in no rush.
You've 2 type of spacers. The one that slide over the oem studs. Those the max thickness you can run is 5mm so you've enough thread left on the studs to tighten your wheel nuts. The second type bolt up to the oem studs and have new studs pressed into them to mount your wheels. If you don't get the second type in a thick enough thickness then the oem studs will protrude past the spacers. That's when you need the spaces in the back of the wheels to clear the oem studs. If you want the 15mm spacing then go for the second type(i.e. bolt on spacers).
Hootie was talking about me, I can feel it! These are H&R 10mm spacers on stock GD alloys. Tire is a 205-50, and they rub over very large bumps/dips only, the rest of the time no problem. I'm on Skunk2s, rear coil cut one full coil BTW

I used to have a set of Rota GT3s on my Fit. These wheels have a +40mm offset and are 15x7 (so 1/2" wider than stock), and I had 205mm tires on them. I got rubbing on the fenders in the back, but only when I had a lot of weight in the back and went over a bump. The more weight, the less of a bump was required.
Switched back to stock wheels (still with the wider tires though, they still fit) and I'm much happier. I'd much, much rather have a high offset than any amount of rubbing.

They are on the car and they look very good. I think i might have been able to do 20mm but w.e. I will have pictures soon im waiting for everything ive been working on to be done before i start taking pictures. I will update this thread for everyone in the future. There is a tiny bit of rubbing when i go over large bumps. Nothing to severe.
