Is this a good deal on a 2007 Fit?

Hi,

New to the forum and interested in buying a used Fit. I have the possibility to buy a 07 Sport model from a dealer for 9k. I know that's a good price but the car has 66k miles on it which makes me wonder how strong this deal actually is. Car seems to be in great shape all around although haven't had a mechanic look at it yet. CarFax looks good with 2 prior owners and no major issues.

Would you purchase this car or would you spend a bit more and get a lower mileage Fit?

Thanks.

that's actually a pretty good deal here in texas at least.... i got lucky and got my car for 9200 and it had 40k miles on it. But the next cheapest fit i could find is 13 grand and it had 64k miles on it. And both of these fit's that I looked at were the sport's also. I say it's a fairly good deal IMO.

I'd go lower mileage. They do hold their value really well, and you still have a good car, but lower miles is always better.

Dang where are u guys geting these good deals on used Fits. I am looking right now for a used 07-08 Fit sport for my GF. I own 3 cars a S200, and two Toyota Previas which both are showing some problems lately and i am sick of working on them or taking them to the shop so i decided for her B-day if i could find one for say $9k or less i would buy it for her. If you see any let me know the cheapest i can find is $11.7k

Cool Never pay the asking price @ a dealership!

How long has the Fit been there? They'er a dealer and and if they put 9K on the car they will Take 5-10% less if your serious about leaving the lot with it.

This is what happened to us; I went to the local Honda dealership in town for a brand new 2008 BOM sport and they would not budge on the price and it was 18,500 and I asked the salesman why soooo high and he said matter of factly "because we can get a 1.5k mark up on the price with the cost of gas (4.00+ gallon this was 6/08). I turned right around with out a good bye and drove off in my 2000 Durango (13mpg). And started my research. Long story short I paid 16.5K for MzFit=cash @ another dealer and we were happy campers here in the Perrenoud household. + tax title ect. and the Extra junk they try to tack on. If you can turn a wrench don't buy the extra "agreements" and if you do, take time to see what is printed on the document. Do your homework and check what a 07 with 66k is going for in your area.
I am not trying to take away from a used car salesman but... Buyer Be Ware

Happy Hunting and I hope this will be a good experience all the way around

Thanks for replies. The asking price was ten and a half but they said they would accept my offer of 9k. However, I think I'm going to pass due to the mileage. Just seems really high for a 2007.

I think 66k for 3 year old car is BETTER than 66k for 6 year old car.

Especially if you have maintenance records, since most like those are highway miles.

I agree... It isn't so much the number of miles as it is the type of driving that produced them. Test drive and if it looks and feels solid don't worry about the miles.

Also, according to kbb that looks like a good deal if it is in "Good" condition.

Thanks. I ended up getting a 2007 with 12k miles for 11,700 today. Not sure if this better than a 2007 with 66k for 9k but I feel better about the mileage.

What color did you end up getting? I think you did good! That's low miles and a fair price. Private or dealer?

I got it from a dealer who was asking $14k. Color is black. Only worry is that due to my urgent need for a car, I didn't have time to have it checked by a mechanic. However, it still has a few years left of powertrain warrany and possibly a bit of time left on the 3 year warranty as well (I have to check the in service date today). All seems fine on it through and it drives great.
