Gimme Cheap Mod Ideas

Ok so here's the deal:
I love my GD3 and when i was in high school I was able to afford a few cool mods for it like my intake, cf hood, rims, ect. But, now i'm in my second year of college and you know what that means....i'm flat shit broke... College is a main in my ass for my wallet. I feel so bad because I used to wash my fit at least once or twice a week, keep it sqweeky clean, and pamper it like it was my own flesh and blood. But now I am in this small town where we get snow 7 months out of the year and my car sits in a parking lot where it is constantly battered by the elements.
I want my car to love me again. I miss the old romance that we once had. What do you guys think I should do? I wanna surprise my baby with something super special (but not expensive...remember, i'm in college) Oh, and nothing too crazy as far as installation goes either. Something I could do in my parking lot.
Any ideas?

you can rewrap your roof liner and door panels. it only costs $12 for glue and $15-$60 for fabric depending on the pattern and cloth type

How about a VW Golf antennae? They make the car look like an RC model. I haven't looked for the price of one yet, but I'm sure you could find a cheap one in the for sale section of a VW forum.

Link to GD with VW antennae.

Haha it does look like an RC car. Cool idea but I am not personally a fan of the look. Re-wrapping the headliner and door panels might be a cool idea.

"JDM" wiper Mod is free! X2 to wrapping the door panels/headliner. Looks really cool and it's easy to do. Or if you feel like a cheap challenge try my wing tilt. I just finished mine today. It costs virtually nothing.

as far as looks? you could paint the intake manifold cover, it really brings the engine bay together.

performance mods for free? you could gut your cat (for off road use only of course lol). if you have a good day (maybe 2) you could build some NACA ducts for the front brakes. I drew up some ideas but still haven't done them yet because of my project teg.

Cheap mod ideas?

One thing stands out: DIY front footwell lighting. Doesn't matter if you go CCFL or LED, either is fine. There's a thread on the subject somewhere here - just search for it.

I'm not usually a fan of adding more lights to a car, but footwells are an exception because they're pretty functional especially in white.

Looks sick, I like it! make sure you post more pics of it farther back from the car. I'll subscribe to that thread.

Painting the manifold cover could definitely be fun, and super cheap.

How about wheel spacers. 10 mm or 3/8: maximum. Usual cost under $36
maybe disengage front antisway bar to reduce the awful understeer.
You could cut one whole coil off the lower end flat taper the last 1/2 coil to half coil thickness at end to get minimum drop.
Flat taper means cross section is a semicircle not round, flat side down.
Add some striping, preferrably the reflective kind. Very distinctive, very inexpensive, and safer for reflective which is available in many colors.

All of these have been done in a parking lot, garage, or parking space. And cost is minimal.

How 'bout adding strip fog lights to your existing f/l. And adding a little accent with led side marker lights. They are cheap, look great and easy to install.

Thumbs up Rear Wiper Removal

Start with a variety plant plastic pot by cutting a piece large enough for two circles, the first circle is exactly (traced from hole on panel) the same size as the wiper outlet. The second circle is approx. 3/16'' larger than the first one. Glue the smaller one to the larger one securely. Then put glue around outside of the smaller circle which will be directly on top of the larger circle. From the backside of the panel (clean surface first) place the small circle directly into the hole on the panel, press firmly until glue on larger circle adheres to the surface. You can leave it black or go to your local Honda dealership and purchase a touch up paint kit ($5-10) that matches your paint. Simply carfully paint the surface of the filled hole...and "boom" finished.
